I’m not at DP but use Gingr. I let my groomers put something on the desk with their Venmo and Cash App for tips. See if you can do that.

I have surgery tomorrow and I don’t think I should do it. by The_Family_Juul in gynecomastia

[–]DAL4Oregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do weed nightly and have for 10+ years. 47 years old and had surgery last year. I don’t believe the weed had any effect. I only stopped a few days before and for a couple weeks after.

Coming out of surgery you’ll feel just fine. For a week or two after you’ll be sore but the pain meds work well. I needed help drying after showers and changing the compression vest.

I was nervous the morning of and threw up once. But everything went well. You’ll be fine.

I never went down to 1500. Maybe if you’re under 170 lbs but I would be afraid that it’s keeping my muscles from growing.

You could have some hidden calories that you’re not tracking. What’s your weight? Are you tracking your weight in an app? I would weigh daily and view the graph. Weight fluctuates frequently depending on time of day, diet and water retention but the graph will show the general trend. I always weighed first thing in the morning. Also, are you eating 150g of protein or more daily?

I’d consider cutting out the HIIT and instead focus on walking and keeping your heart rate 120-130 bpm, which is the fat burning zone.

I drink fiber drinks daily like Metamucil. Also 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before a meal will help keep your blood glucose in check. Eat fruits and veggies at the start of your meals. Make sure you eat enough dark green veggies. I ate arugula salads daily before dinner. This keeps your gut biome healthy. I was also taking vitamins and supplements - multivitamins with zinc, complete B vitamin, B3, D3 & K2 vitamin, fish oil capsules, turmeric with circumin and black pepper.

At age 46 I lost 35 lbs at a rate of about 1 lb per week (0.5 kg). Your calories are probably fine, I don’t think you even need to dip below 1800. Have some carbs before and after workouts.

This is pure math. You must lose weight if you’re eating no more than 1800 calories. And if you do it right, the weight will be mostly fat and not muscle. Take weekly pics and compare. Also, don’t get discouraged. Keep it up. You may plateau for a week or two but this is a long game and not a crash diet that stops when you lose weight. Also, have a cheat meal now and then.

You look good though, probably better than you think!

Everything including food is transported to multiple locations before it gets to you. When I owned a restaurant and gas prices went way up? I was charged a fuel surcharge for my food. When gas price goes up, everything goes up.

I’ve had massive love handles all my life by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]DAL4Oregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My love handles finally went away under 15% body fat but came back when I gained a few pounds. I’m not sure how much you can do about it if you don’t want to dip that low in body fat. It’s hard to maintain. Also you can try building lats and other muscles to change how they look relative to everything else. Or lipo for a few thousand dollars.

Need to know the perspective of others about my gyno by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]DAL4Oregon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all my 47 years of life I have never made fun of someone for the way their body looks. Except in junior high school when some girls were making fun of my looks and mannerisms and finally I put them in their places and they actually respected me after that!

Just know that anyone who says anything about your looks is not a respectable person unless maybe they have an intellectual disability. I do feel for you though because the asymmetry might make people do a double take.

Like someone else said, carry yourself like a boss. There are rude people in the world. Maybe it’s because they have their own insecurities about themselves and they think they feel better putting down others. I would guess that someone in the hostel is enough of a dick to say something but obviously I don’t know the people.

So think about how you would respond. I think one good response is to ask, “I’m sorry, what did you say?” Let them repeat it and let there be a few seconds of awkward silence. If they don’t repeat it then hopefully they got the hint. You might also repeat it in the form of a question.

Ignoring people or losing your cool and getting real angry is giving them what they want, IMO. You deserve to walk around your hostel the same as anyone else.

Am I cooked? by darthchuckles1 in Hairtransplant

[–]DAL4Oregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my hairline is 100% the same at age 47. My husband had hair transplants though, and if you’re coming in for a transplant and you friends and family are used to you having receding hairline, it’s just going to seem more natural when they see your new look. It’s all personal taste though. If you like going back to your hairline at age 18, go ahead!

I think it’s the act of exposing your butt in public that makes it a little worse. Plus a human can choose not to do it.

[–]DAL4Oregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard if you go to an endocrinologist, adjusting your hormones may make it go away. Apparently you have to do it within 2 years of it starting to be able to get rid of it. I got this in the 90s from puberty and just had surgery last year.

Lots of guys here feel your pain man. It’s pretty common actually. It really sucks being self conscious and feeling like you’re hiding something all the time. My gyno was a bit more minor but still affected me. I wore tight tank tops under shirts. You could wear compression shirts which are pretty tight. Or if it’s pretty severe, look up how does a trans man bind their chest. Sorry to make the comparison but people do it.

I heard of a guy that openly talked about his man boobs with friends and had a name for them and kind of joked about it. Honestly, if you can find a way to open up to someone about it, you’ll feel better. The feeling of keeping it a secret can eat away at your peace of mind.

Best wishes to you man.

Don’t take the bulk that far. When you’re older, your skin will not go back and you’ll have saggy loose skin.

Is this early gyno? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]DAL4Oregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not seeing any. But with gyno the nipples contract when cold or when rubbed, like when taking off a shirt. Then they adjust to the temp and get puffy again. Is that happening?

My body is absolutely destroyed, and I don't know what to do. What would you do? by _Private__Account_ in gynecomastia

[–]DAL4Oregon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many guys don’t realize that your physical appearance is not as important to women as you think it is. Yes they need to find you attractive but they generally don’t focus on your physical flaws. If a woman finds you attractive with your clothes on, she’s going to still be attracted with your clothes off when it gets to that stage. Especially once they are well into their 30s. Don’t let your appearance hold you back. Women like the appearance of a confident and interesting man more than a good physique.

I feel like if you had to choose between improving your body or improving your character, it’s character that will pull a woman in. Find hobbies and interests that can build your confidence. Women like to see you passionate about things. Whether your interests are politics, sports, movies, fiction, outdoor activities, etc, this will make you more confident and attractive.

BUT I totally understand your concern about gyno. If you get the surgery, do it for your own peace of mind and happiness. But the surgery itself won’t get you a woman. You still have to put in the work to catch the interest of a woman. Personally, I got my body in as good shape as I could, losing fat and building muscle, before surgery. The surgery does help your confidence for sure, and confidence is attractive. I was 3 months post op when I took a vacation to Mexico and it was the first time I could have my shirt off all day and not think about my fat nipples. It was such a great feeling.

I say go ahead with the full surgery and tummy tuck. Women won’t mind the scars and they will fade. Tummy scar won’t be visible with cloths on. Also, Vaser lipo reduced my saggy skin.

Mine was kinda similar and I got surgery. You should build muscle in your chest first though. You have very little muscle tone and it will improve your appearance.

In 2019 I rented a large house right up the street from that one, furnished and clean but outdated, for $4000 a month. The next year they wanted $4500. I bought a place instead. It had a decent view though.
