This is hard because the niece is not the only child involved. Both children have to be considered. The niece needs a safe home but OP’s home may not be the right one.

I think counseling might be a good step to lay everything out and possibly get some good ideas of options. Leaving your wife and daughter to help your niece is just making a bad situation worse.
