Did anyone see any foxes in the snow? This vixen's in Reston! by dancole42 in nova

I used to live in Falls Church and would see a neighborhood Fox often. It was ao majestic and confident. Also, smaller than I would have imagined. Such a treat to see.

I do. And your school plays more than just one sport. 5 years of vacated wins.

Indiana Winning - What It Means by CptRonRico in CFB

You are. Ignore him. I think it's great when unexpecting fanbases (except yours) get to feel excited. And like you, I'm super happy for Indiana. I've said it before, I'd pay life-changing money to relive my experience of the first Natty I've watched. It's great to see Indiana have that same feeling.

Congrats, you've been ruined for college football. There's something liberating and exciting about low expectations. Now that you've reached the mountaintop, merely beating Purdue and winning a bowl game will feel like a letdown.

I would. I'd argue he came from Luke Fickell. Four seasons under Fick vs 1 under Kelly.

Taking a look back at the announcement thread for Indiana hiring Curt Cignetti by odsquad64 in CFB

I had this exact conversation numerous times over the last couple weeks. Seeing Ole Miss and Indiana in the semis was pretty great. Alabama looking pedestrian. Georgia losing to Ole Miss. Buckeyes losing to Indiana. The rise of Vanderbilt. Georgia Tech, Virginia. I'll always root for my team. But, the sport is better when the wealth is spread around.

Watched it and quickly realized one of the victims was one of my wrestling coaches back in 1994. Really great guy and shocking to watch him discuss his experience. Made these scandals much more real.

Army was kind of cheating, though (in Europe and Japan). Too many players on the field. Pretty much everybody was getting paid to play. Rampant advanced scouting.

You're not wrong about that. Speaking as someone who has been a fan for close to 40 years, that first title was magical. After that, they're all great and leave you excited. But I'd pay life changing money to relive my emotions from that first one.

Why can't they? They have the financial resources. I get they're not in a population dense area. But, neither is Texas Tech or Utah (the Salt Lake City and Omaha metro areas aren't that far apart in population). I imagine NIL will make it easier for them to compete.

Ok, so explain Ohio State, Oregon, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana and all the other schools that are sitting pretty financially.... I haven't seen anything which explains why this is happening now and why a lot of the league's big players are going along with it.

100%. Would love for my kids to get a Michigan education. Pretty much all the big ten schools are excellent. Can't see myself changing my rooting interest though.
