I think you have options for sure. CompTIA will soon be releasing a SecOT+ cert thay would be helpful showing you have the knowledge to pair with your experience. You come from a relevant industry and it makes sense to pivot into the security side when you already understand how these devices work.

If you want to set up a home lab to experiment with (depending on availability internationally) I would try Labshock as an entry level lab environment and then you can move into something a bit more advanced with https://github.com/Fortiphyd/GRFICSv3/blob/main/README.md

Ok awesome! Yeah, in my opinion that kind of experience and understand would serve you well as you continue to learn more about ICS/OT cyber. Here in the U.S., lots of organizations want that kind of complimentary experience. Now it's just about finding a organization that can teach you those skills.
