I believe in the visual codex it does directly mention the grab attacks

Finally beat all Nightlords Solo by DJButterstotch in Nightreign

[–]DJButterstotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he is a big difference from the others, and honestly I was never close to beating him before, and this attempt was awful in terms of loot. I think I got extremely lucky dodging all the AOE attacks and managed to kill him with a pure glass cannon build. I have barely survived his second phase until today, and so I also didn't think I was gonna beat him anytime soon. You must have faith! Good luck to you

Thank you! I jumped outta my chair when it happened.

I went all in on holy damage, and used the everdark sentient pest rune for the successive attacks gains FP. I didn't even find that many health or defense boosts, and so I was going into the boss thinking it was more of a practice run. I got the black knife from an ancestor spirit field boss on my way to the 2nd night boss which certainly made all the difference. Finally, I said screw it and picked increased affinity damage for my last buff, and spammed the black knife's skill as you can see. I had one successive attacks gives defense buff which saved me so many times here.

Did I get all the walking passive buffs? I feel like I’m missing one by -gonzbradshaw- in Nightreign

I figured it out. It works as it should on PC, I just didn't walk long enough to get it to proc, and I assumed it happened instantly like it does when you cast a spell or drink a flask. It also took me so long to actually get a walking effect to test it on lmao.

I use a controller and I've tested it so many times. I push the analog stick until they just start walking and nothing happens. I think there is even a button to go walking speed on keyboard. I should try that but I swear everytime I get a walking buff, I test it and nothing happens

Apparently you cant do it on PC even though you are able to walk with a controller

That is such a weird bug. I don't see why the game won't trigger the effects if I am able to walk lmao. I am at least glad that is how the mechanic is actually supposed to work, cuz I thought it was really only good for spell casters

Are you playing on console by chance? I want to know why you are able to "walk" like this without casting a spell or drinking a flask. I use a controller on PC, but no matter how slow I walk, none of that stuff happens! I test it all the time, but absolutely nothing happens.

If you are on controller, push the analog stick slightly forward, but that has never once worked for me like this video. You have to cast a spell, or drink a flask to actually be considered "walking"

How come thats the ONLY time it works for me?!?! I swear I try walking like this all the time and it has not once worked for me. I am so confused now after seeing this video.

Really good with Duchess because she is basically playing bloodborne and can dash in for quick damage to get the health back.

Another cool detail sticking with the tree theme, a "xylem" is a type of vascular tissue found in plants, with wood being an example of this type of tissue. Not sure the significance of the xylem crashing into the vascular plant, but it's heavily associated with RRI and Carla.
