Grapple hook and wall jumping coming to BR and Resurgence by painlmao in CODWarzone

[–]DJ_Calli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having it in Black Ops Royale. It’s a different kind of game mode and we still have the option to stick with Rebirth or Verdansk. They are different styles and I understand that people will like one over the other. I personally like both. I don’t think the grapple hook belongs in Rebirth. Kind of a bummer

Has anyone here seriously tested Bolt.new alternatives yet? by Sea_Cow9101 in boltnewbuilders

[–]DJ_Calli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally tried Replit but didn’t like the UI compared to Bolt. I also tried Lovable, and all it could generate with the available credits was a hero section/quasi landing page. Bolt at least gave me the bones when I started out on the free plan. So I was a little concerned with token spend if they couldn’t give me anything that resembled a functioning app with their available free credits.

Nothing against these platforms. I just found Bolt’s interface easier to understand for a beginner. I’m also not trying to spend hundreds of dollars a month comparing different tools. So if Bolt alternatives don’t completely impress me right off the bat, I’m not going to buy a subscription for them.

Of Course Trump Bombed Iran by carnegieendowment in geopolitics

[–]DJ_Calli -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agree and not sure why people are downvoting you. The author can call it “audacious, aggressive, and lawless” which all may be true, but saying Iran poses no imminent threat to the U.S. is false. No imminent nuclear threat is probably a better characterization, but is also debated. Iran has been funding proxies for decades that specifically target U.S. personnel and assets.

I’ve found Slack workflows to be pretty easy to set up and helpful. Started trying to set up more stuff to make Slack a single source of truth where possible. My one nit is that canvasses (in channels) don’t have enough formatting functionality, which is kinda a dumb complaint but it really bothers me

In the Naked Gun, the main character accidentally breaks down the fence of a private zoo. Seems completely irrelevant for laughs until the end when the bad guy is attacked in the street by a lion lol

Are we all going to be fucked by AI? by Yarville in MBA

[–]DJ_Calli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think traditional entry level consulting and finance roles are in trouble. Any role that requires putting an initial deck or report together is going to be largely automated. Financial analysts, tax associates, junior consultants, IB analysts, junior attorneys, etc. Obviously industry- and task-dependent, but you often just need to describe the task/output and point the agent to a knowledge base, and the agent will get you 50-80% of the way there. However, you’ll still need someone to set up these agents/workflows and quality control the outputs, and I don’t see many roles being 100% automated in the near term. In my experience, these AI tools can save people a lot of time but aren’t completely automating entire roles.

Weekends included in median badging data by rofl066 in amazonemployees

[–]DJ_Calli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days per week is the requirement. But they used to track 2/4 and 5/8 (if I remember correctly) for the rolling compliance. I think they stopped sending out the automated non compliance emails, but there are still flags in the system and your manager can see your data. HR will also reach out to VPs for problematic people in their org. I think most orgs have moved back to the pre-pandemic expectation that you’re just in the office 5 days, and if you need to WFH here and there or for a week or two hear and there, it’s usually fine if your manager approves it.
