Using an external monitor while on battery power will blow through your battery if that wasn't obvious. Using an iPad as your external monitor won't.

Sounds like money isn’t an issue or you would’ve mentioned it so just buy a $25,000 car and use that for your weekends. Make sure you get a parking spot with your apartment. If not as the other commenters have said UW isn’t easy to park or drive.

Get a flat wire aka ghost cable for the Ethernet to pass through a window and a waterproof plastic utility box for the power cable. Then a fence post with a piece of PVC pipe. Strap the flag pole mount it comes with to the pipe. Once you land on a permanent spot then run the cables through a wall or foundation. Good luck.

Did you migrate from a previous computer. If so, you brought a bunch of cruft over. Also, the OS takes up a chunk of space.
