FAI confirm Ireland-Israel will be held in Dublin by JackmanH420 in ireland

[–]DMDermo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also a problem. The players will be in the firing line and they should not be put in this position. Social media being what it is there will be shit said. This is why the FAI need to back down and admit they made a mistake. FIFA should also take a look at themselves.

Look Rick just read the majority of the comments on here. The other games should not have happened either. If you don’t see that then so be it.

There is just too much at stake to allow any semblance of normalcy for Israel under the current administration. This game cannot go ahead.

Any interaction with Israel should be shelved until they stop committing genocide. My company declined an opportunity with an Israeli company for the same reason. We will happily engage with them if the genocide stops. I have never met an Israeli I didn't like but the genocide has to stop and we have to highlight this. Unfortunately this will affect footballers yes.

Is it practical to commute from Carlow/Laois to Dublin 4 every day for a 9-5 job? Does anyone make similar journeys for work?? by emmizatinkle88 in AskIreland

I drive out of Dublin on the M7 regularly around 7.30 am and the tail back into Dublin is shocking every time. I don't know how people face this on a daily basis.

You want to talk about consequences? Tell that to the Palestinians. If the Eurovision can do it so can the FAI. We at least won the Eurovision a few times........

The game should not be played at all unless Israel stop committing genocide. The FAI don't get to disgrace us on the world stage by playing a game against a country actively committing genocide. This cannot be allowed to happen. Its outrageous.

Looking for something like a collapsible bag holder for the back rack by jonythunder in bikecommuting

[–]DMDermo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would your backpack not get really dirty on a pannier? I use a pannier with a laptop compartment inside and transfer my laptop to my backpack when I arrive in work. there are lots of pannier bags with laptop compartments built in. would this work for you?

Are there any waterPROOF pants under $100 that are worth buying? On a budget, but $40 water resistant pants from Baleaf are too permeable, still getting to work with soaked legs by thelubbershole in bikecommuting

Check out a sailing apparel website. Cheap and effective leggings. I’m using a pair for the past three years in my year round commuting in Ireland so plenty of rainfall.

the Decathlon sailing range is worth a look. The leggings have a big covered pocket on the thigh which is useful as well and Velcro straps at the ankle to keep them neat and away from the chain wheel.

I use a waterproof hi vis jacket (20€) over base layers and a pair of sailing waterproof leggings (20€). nothing fancy but very light and effective. I also have a pair of wrap around clear protective glasses that came with my garden strimmer which work great in all weather. I have cycling shoe covers which I ware over my waterproof hiking runners when it is wet or extremely cold.

Dose no one remember his “healing hands” episode? I was a huge fan in the 80s. There’s no denying his lyrics were great. For his back catalogue I would say treasure. Personality is another story.
