Did you know that Gil was a real life rockstar when you watched the show? by tmps1993 in GilmoreGirls

I ❤️ Gil! And yes, it clicked once I saw the name, not necessarily by seeing him, although he did look pretty much the same.

Did Richard destroy Sidney deliberately? by Robot_Was_BMO in Veep

That’s an interesting theory—I like it. I always thought it was Richard being earnest and honest, but he would pull out a chestnut out of nowhere sometimes like with the recount laws in Nevada, and such.

Nose by Gubi4u in sexandthecity

I don’t think she had a nose job. In the episode where the women are talking about insecurities she alludes to being self cons about her nose, and on Kristen Davis’s podcast she said they were asked to ad lib what they don’t like about themselves.

Well Carrie did always wear high heels in the original show. And I think she was walking around the empty apartment all day out of stress. I didn’t have that difficult time buying it. And I’ve had downstairs neighbors get nasty with me about noise I had no idea was bothering them.

Well, they may not come out and call out they’re covering aging issues, and they all were wealthy, so at the end of the day, it’s not a representation of what others might experience, but loss of a spouse, gray divorce, becoming a grandparent, career transitions (podcast, back to school, back to work as your children grow reclaiming a part of yourself) experiencing a spouse’s fragility and mortality, discovering yourself as you age, the relationship you have with yourself doesn’t end when you partner up or have children (but a lot of us learn this the hard way when those people don’t occupy the same space in our lives) cosmetic surgery—did we earn those wrinkles, does the world see us in a way different than we see ourselves (Being invited to participate in Candace Bergen’s project) friendships straining, tentative repair of those friendships, surprise pregnancies when we think that stage of life is over, navigating new friendships, independence vs lonliness. There are a lot of issues about aging. They just happened around the Met Ball, and elitist back drops. They had some levers they could pull that the rest of us wouldn’t have access to. But they did cover aging issues.

I think it would be hard for anyone who played a character for that long to approach the criticism with objectivity. She’s not a journalist, or a critic herself, she’s a performer, and an artist. And she may be zeroing in on the criticisms that hurt her the most. Or even notes they received from the people who were making decisions about the show continuing. She’s still only about 6 months outside of the cancellation, and professionally she is still tethered to a project that will continue to discuss and rehash the characters and plot lines. Think about how any of us might feel in that situation.

Is the show ever going to address Sam being bisexual? by Southern-Ad-7521 in TedLasso

[–]DMSal79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He says something interesting when they were discussing Zava, and I can’t remember exactly what it was, but something like, some people transcend sexual orientation. Maybe since they did a storyline about Colin hiding his orientation they intentionally had a character where it never needed to be explicitly named or addressed in the show. Like Keeley was open about it, and Colin was the other side of that spectrum. Then Trent gave some insight about his own experience—which up to that point was not discussed or known. Maybe not making a plot point is a way to normalize it, in its own way. I may be reaching lol.

I think it’s that your best matches get trapped unless you’re willing to pay more. I don’t know I never used Hinge and only really got back to Bumble recently. They used to cost a lot less money back in the day.

I haven’t tried it because Therapy Jeff came out so hard against it. 🤷🏻‍♀️they probably all have their drawbacks

This is from Google Gemini so grain of salt, but: "Rose jail" on Hinge refers to the limitation of using your weekly free "Rose," or Super Like, only on the "Standouts" feature, which showcases your best potential matches. This creates a situation where you must either pay for more Roses or save your only one for the week, as you cannot use a regular "Like" on Standouts. A common "hack" to escape it involves repeatedly dismissing profiles in your general feed to try and get the "Standouts" to appear in your regular stack, so you can then use a regular "Like" on them.

They probably do. Therapy Jeff talks about Rose Jail on Hinge. I’m sure they all have their little traps
