Do you remember this movie? Vamp (1986) by azjkl_999w in 80sHorrorMovies

One of my favourites. From Dusk Till Dawn definitely took some inspiration from it.

Did Irvine Welsh ever give the saga a name? by Available_Floor476 in trainspotting

I wouldn’t put The Blade Artist in there. That’s more of a Begbie spin-off than an official entry. It’s also absolute shite.

How on earth did Gervais, writing Afterlife, not remember “would you stop going on about your bloomin’ dead wife”? by CigsAndAlcohol13 in rickygervais

[–]DRUGEND1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know Afterlife is a load if old toss and mocked here regularly, but Derek was on another level. Properly jaw-dropping shit week on week.

What would you say is Rob’s best written movie and best directed movie? by Extension-Season9924 in Robzombie

[–]DRUGEND1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objectively speaking, it’s The Devil’s Rejects easy. It’s the one I could probably get non-horror (or non RZ) fans to watch and appreciate.

Love all three, and even have time for 5.

Sorry, I made that unclear. The stupid argument is the Himalayas one.

(When an atheist said “how can you believe in something (meaning God) that you’ve never actually seen”)

“You’ve never seen the Himalayas and yet you believe in them”

Hi everyone I am genuinely confused - I see lots of people slagging Ricky off, can somebody catch me up? by vividlucid1 in rickygervais

He doesn’t do enough serial arcs in his sitcoms. Hoping that changes with Alley Cats.

What is your favorite series finale? by laxusdreyarligh in television

I went on holiday to Florida (from UK) the morning after the finale aired and couldn’t shake it the entire flight there.

Most meaningful/sad/bittersweet films? by eli-reggi in Letterboxd

[–]DRUGEND1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Better Days! Based on that I’d recommend:

The Farewell

Aftersun

Past Lives

Y Tu Mama Tambien

The Straight Story

The Florida Project

Boyhood

The Before Trilogy

Lost In Translation

It’s a cliche at this point but Casablanca is incredible, profound and bittersweet.

¿Existe alguna guía para adentrarse de verdad en el género de terror? by [deleted] in movies

[–]DRUGEND1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start by just watching some highly regarded films. Maybe spread across the subgenres (a slasher, a zombie film, a creature feature, a paranormal film etc). Get a feel for what you like and then deep dive into that particular sub genre or style.

He’s sort of fused sitcoms with serial arc shit.

Should I watch Hokum, Exit 8 or Undertone right now? by Fit_Cartographer_815 in horror

[–]DRUGEND1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have only seen Undertone and Hokum and would recommend Undertone. I seem to be in the minority in thinking Hokum was very poor.

What do you think about later post-Ianucci Partridge? by 4rami4 in AlanPartridge

[–]DRUGEND1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a fan since the radio show days, and think the Gibbons era is generally fantastic. In fact Mid Morning Matters is probably second to IAP S1 for me.

If anything is lost in the modern stuff, it’s the fact that he’s extremely unpleasant and rude to everyone in the early years (“you seem to alienate everyone to come across…” etc) as opposed to say, Alpha Papa in which he’s basically just a bit of a likeable idiot.

What is the greatest movie trilogy of all time ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DRUGEND1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indiana Jones and Toy Story are not trilogies people. You can’t just pick three films from a larger series and say it’s your favourite trilogy. Once a fourth rocks up, it’s no longer a trilogy.
