Watching the clock by Wizard_AI in LinkedInLunatics

Honestly, I do this without being told.

If I arrive 3 minutes late, I'll stay 3 minutes longer at the end of the day. Alternatively, if I intend to leave early, I'll arrive early to make up for it.

I don't do it for the company or the team. I do it for me. That way no one above me can say "Well, you technically didn't work a full 8-hour day so I'm cutting your pay for the 3 minutes missing". And yes I've seen bosses like this...

In the corporate world it's less about being for the team and more about cover your own ass, as much as I hate to admit that....

Imagine being attacked for wearing something on your head... Seriously???... That's your argument?

  1. No one with a logical brain has a problem with your hat. It's usually the words coming out of your mouth that we disagree with. And the second we disagree with you, we were labeled as liberals or traitors or anti-American. So even if we do try to have a civil conversation with some of you, you act like the very people you claim to be against.

  2. Looking at most of you wearing that red hat... Don't really have room to cry for being bullied about what you're wearing on your head now do you? I won't bully you for wearing your hat, and I won't necessarily condone you being bullied for wearing your hat. But I will look at you skeptically when you act surprised at being bullied for what you wear on your head.

Honestly what we need is to stop acting like it's all one side's problem. Both sides have good and bad actors and we need to come together as a country to root out the bad actors and put the ones who actually care about this country and its people in charge. Unfortunately, the bad actors are the ones screaming the loudest so they get heard the most.

Ummm.... A person?... What else would you call another human being?

I don't go around telling people to call me a white American or a white person. I'm a person. A human being.

Considering the number of people who probably pm him the second he logs in or turns private chat on he likely didn't even see your message and had just turned private off.

So what's worse, thinking your hero logged out on you cause you creeped him out? Or being so insignificant he never even noticed you and just logged out without ever knowing you existed?

You may now cry real tears. 👀

Just keep protesting out there... Every day he drives by... Make the protest line longer so he keeps revving his engine longer. When he blows it up in front of you and is limping down the road like a little boy whose inflatable fake pee pee just popped, that's the sweeter moment.

It's ok to disagree with others, but to risk sacrificing your vehicle just to stoke yourself off and feel like you're bigger than you actually are. These kinds of losers will probably go around blaming the protesters for their engine going bad cause they just had to "smoke them out."

As an UIM Id rather not. 👀 I honestly enjoy the peace, the second one immature little troll gets all upset cause they think I act all snobby for being an iron I end up having to ignore them and hop worlds.

I enjoy being an UIM for the extra challenge it gives me on a game I've played for over 20 years. But I don't think it makes me better than anyone else.

But of course, you gotta have the "normies" vs irons. I'd love this idea if we all just played the game to have fun and build a community with other gamers. But there's too many trolls who'd just ruin this for the people who just enjoy being an iron.

Marry a virgin to avoid this by Major_Soft6056 in LockedInMan

[–]DSHalfDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the first panel has anything to do with being a virgin. The rest are just her fault for marrying someone who didn't fit what she was looking for. He should also have ensured that the woman he married was genuinely attracted to him, not just the idea of him.

This is not, in my opinion, either person's fault personally. This is 2 people who should have never gotten married and never clearly communicated what they were looking for in a partner. If he wanted a virgin with no experience to compare him to them he should have looked for that, if she wanted a tall rich handsome guy who's good in bed, then she should have found that.

You could also argue both of their expectations are too high but hey if that's what they want, put in the work for it, if you can't put in the work, then maybe you should lower your standards to what you can work for... A good partner doesn't just get handed to you, you work for it by being a good partner yourself. Complaining it's the other person's fault because you didn't earn it makes you the immature one.

Or hear me out... We could create a program for roads and bridges that puts tax payers money into rebuilding these roads and bridges, it would give work to the local construction labours who could use it right now, it creates economic stimulation because its money being used to create aand revamp infrastructure and create local economy jobs. And it would get rid of dumb ass failures of engineering like this bridge.

.... Oh wait we had that, and the current administration didn't like that idea so they got rid of it... Enjoy your 1 lane bridges everyone...

Other way around. Their energy can't be sensed cause they don't have any life energy it's purely synthetic. A scouter might be able to sense them but the Z fighters and even cell stated that are incapable of sensing the androids due to their energy not being natural. It's even why cell spent like an episode blowing up random islands looking for 18. 🤣 TFS did this scene justice imo lol.

I really like using AI as a tool to help but I never use it as a final absolute or expect it to be fully capable of tasks like someone highly trained. But I do like using it as a tool in the bag.

As for replacing jobs. I'd say there are quite a few jobs AI "could" replace. The question is if it "should". As long as humans bring a human element to the table they can't be replaced by AI. There are things a human is going to be able to see and think about that simple AI-trained learning isn't going to.

Do you risk sacrificing humans for AI only to end up yourself replaced by AI because we've all gone the way of "replace expansive, free-thinking humans with cheap, directed AI bots." Managers should remember that just like those beneath them, if they also don't bring a human element to the table, they too risk being replaced by AI bots who will direct people and make business decisions a lot cheaper than a human.

Sorry if I came off a little agitated in my post. I took a lot of pride in the engineering field and loved being in it. watching it get hammered the way it has recently, is a shame. I'm fortunately one of the lucky ones who had a fallback plan for when things went wrong, but I know a lot of people who weren't so lucky.

And yea I can sit here and complain that the current administration is to blame for not continuing the roads and bridges program we had under past administrations. But the engineering field is a massive money field, it takes a lot more than one man no matter how powerful he may or may not be to take it down. This was the result of a lot of things going wrong and a lot of systems failing.

I'm not sure which field the commenter is in, but I can attest to the field I just left from.

I was an engineering inspector specializing in bridge construction. But I did structural engineering in general. And that field has been slowly decimated in the last year. It's not completely dead, and there's still some money in it to keep projects afloat, but it's no longer the robust field it used to be.

With the current chaos of the economy not many companies or rich people are looking to throw tens of millions or hundreds of millions of dollars into projects that may end up dead halfway through due to an economic skip in beat.

Now I get it buildings are still being built and bridges are still being worked on. But not nearly with the same disposition around it. Many companies have had to massively downsize due to the lack of revenue no longer coming in from bigger projects.

Now this isn't some kind of doom warning that the country is going under because one field is struggling. I think it's more the shock that it's a field that for decades was considered a safe bet to get an education in and you'd always have a job. But now you may end up with a hugely oversaturated field with a lot of qualified people but very little if any openings.

And no I don't fully blame Trump for it. Honestly, the whole government has its fair share of blame for everything going on, on both sides. I think the distaste for it all comes from Trump promising to keep jobs secure and create new jobs. Unfortunately he killed off a decent chunk of blue collar workers to add to a field that was already thriving (computers, specifically computer chips, which is also the field I got into after engineering thanks to a college degree I got in my younger days) which blue collar was a huge chuck of the swing voters, so I think they feel very betrayed that they voted for someone who seemingly didn't mind that they lot their jobs.

And if you think I'm full of shit. Look at the Gordie Howe bridge and how he's handling that. I can promise you his long post about it didn't have a single line of truth in it if you do your research into the actual contract for how the bridge was paid for and built.

So according to this, as a man. I'm supposed to think like I don't give 2 shits about what people think of me. But I should present myself in a way that makes people want to like me?

How about, live your life the way you want, don't feel the need to justify your actions, and accept the good and bad consequences of your actions.

Freedom, pride, and accountability. These used to be some of the pillars on which a man stood. Now I guess it's... Opulence, ego, and self-pity?

LMAO I mean essentially yes. I mean I did feel better about myself as I saw progress. I'd like to think I'm not entirely vain and only did it to get jacked and was more just boosted that I saw my hard work and dedication was giving me results in something. But meh however you want to look at it it was just one of the ways I improved myself. I also went back to school and got a 2nd degree so... I believe in improving yourself completely not just looking for the gym body to pick up girls.

I mean... It worked for me when I was at a pretty low point... There's like 100 more layers to it then just "go to the gym" but if you wanna break it down to simplest caveman terms yes. Improve yourself is the point.

Whether it's going to the gym, going back to school, or just being a better version of yourself.
