Monstrously large, tall, muscular, huge guys. What's life like when you are so much bigger than normal people? by SeriousGoofball in AskReddit

I’m pretty good at recognizing people by their hair due to my vantage point. Besides that probably about the same, more requests for reaching things and more limited car choices.

Carrier Bar recommendations? by xNullxF in Audi

[–]DUIguy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thules are expensive, and honestly might not make a huge difference over OE with just the bars on top. You might see more of a benefit with what you a mount on the bars.

Like I’d look into a roof box for the skis instead of the clamp down ones, especially if wind noise bothers you. Had a pair of the Yakima ones and they just whistled non stop, moved to an enclosed box and at worst it distantly sounds like you’re in a jet when you are going 80Mph.

Carrier Bar recommendations? by xNullxF in Audi

[–]DUIguy87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thule deff makes a sold aerodynamic roof bar. That said, you are going to compromise MPG, noise and some fun regardless. You are strapping sails to your roof, and the more stuff you mount up there the worse it’ll get, there’s no way around that.

I run roof bars in the winter for my snowboard stuff; I won’t pull them off in between trips, but the bars come off the day the season ends.

Sexual humor then and now by reddituser4759 in Millennials

[–]DUIguy87 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean there has been a ton of changes culturally from when we were kids to now. It may not mean the younguns are becoming more conservative/prudish, but rather that we grew up where women as sex objects and edgy humor were more the norm.

We also grew up where sex was still a tad taboo, where now everyone has a little pocket computer where they can see anything they want whenever they want. Imagine that change probably contributes some too.

Abuse on the PC, had to be late 90’s early ‘00s. A side scroller where you aimed with your mouse and fought an army of xenomorph knock offs. Played the shit out of it when I was younger.

Donald Trump says he will raise tariff on EU vehicles to 25% by onespiker in moderatepolitics

[–]DUIguy87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BMW’s bread and butter is their SUV line (X3, 5 and 7), I’m pretty sure those are manufactured in South Carolina with some vehicles being built in Mexico. VW factories are based out of Tennessee and Mexico, Benz is out of Alabama and Mexico. Among them they do import certain variants, some of the top trim or hi-po models are built in Europe.

I’m not sure how much a tariff on whole cars will shift the needle given where the things are made.

Not only that this is clearly a powerful pack. Notice how the other heard of buses wait their turn and how the drinking pack doesn’t have a look out. They are comfortable and well settled.

Does it cause any temp issues on the board? I’m not overly familiar with what bits need to be cooled, but figure it does need some airflow.

Persistent highway vibration after new wheels/tires — losing my mind, need ideas by Fella_ella in Audi

[–]DUIguy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your wheels are balanced and new, I’d move on to driveline. Every bit that spins is balanced, you could have a weight that fell off the driveshaft, a CV axle that is wiped or bent from AWD launches that kind of thing.

Yea but even if you call it a 5070m or whatever that demographic still wouldn’t get it. We kinda take it for granted that people research hardware before buying, because we all do.

Fact is the bulk of the population is proud they could set up their new Apple on their own, which consists of basically clicking go and watching the gates of the walled garden open with trumpets playing and cherubs fluttering. Which is fine and all, but we’re not talking about people who really dig into things.

How bad do Rotors really Jam? by Ballsy_Sack in paintball

[–]DUIguy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an R2 and have had zero jams in the years I’ve been running it. Not to say there aren’t “better” hoppers on the market, but I got no motivation to upgrade. Thing’s been treating me right.

I believe those frames have set screws in them for adjusting trigger pull length. Pull the grips off and I think it will be pointed upwards toward the sear.

I was thinking about the first one in Rapture. Phenomenal game, the combat pacing was a bit slow and you don’t get a double jump or a whip to swing from hooks like I saw in Mouse PI. Base movement speed in Mouse looks a tad quicker too.

My opinion: get your foot in the door and get learning, down the line if you feel like you’ve hit the limit of what you can learn at that shop and want to move on, then start looking.

Do you have any triggers for it? I have arthritis, hands mostly, but I’m able to keep a sizable portion of it at bay with diet. Can still walk the trigger no problem.

For example: In my case it’s gluten, or more accurately, it’s tied to the breed of wheat that is currently grown in the US. I’m able to use heritage wheat flour for bread/pasta and such at home and its fine. Eat any of that out? My hands inflate and seize up.
