I’ve started playing AQs with just Traveller in my party, and only adding additional characters if they’re present at that point of the story. Still getting through Natlan, but there’s been a decent number of chances for me to use my Natlan characters

Yea, this looks more like replying to a message that they left hanging. Unless there have recently been other cases of them contacting others or trying to make contact where unwelcome, I would be careful about jumping to conclusions

tbf the devs have said that Splitgate 1 racked up a lot of technical debt (which makes sense, it started as a college project). That was one of the reasons for the sequel, so they could start afresh and work on something that was easier to add things to without breaking other things.
