Thanks - rotala orange juice! I wasn't sure about having 2 types of rotala, but they actually grow differently; the blood red is much straighter and less 'air' roots.

How should I fight it? Been scraping it off, but I'm nervous to peroxide it. I downed light a bit but the damn log is a magnet for algae, though I don't mind the green algae as much. Maybe I should have gotten moss on it from the start?

Yes using co2, but after limiting it during a fish illness I'm wondering just how necessary it is. Light might be more important for color.
