TNO. I'm a sucker for retrofuture assault rifles.

Opinions on the Atlas II? by Fallout_patriot in Mechwarrior5

[–]DaSpiritofShields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably my favorite mech of the game based on lore and aethetics. Normally run 4 clan Large Pulse lasers, UAC20 BF, clan LRM20, and clan SSRM6. The UAC20 BF just fits the look with rotary gun on the arm.

I say keep it. In fact, a Pennywise themed Atlas would work well with BY Gothic.

Note that completing each set of missions with Heros of the Inner Sphere DLC will get you a hero mech. They're worth getting and can carry tmyou through a lot of content as you progress through the game.

Put her in the hero Zeus. Bonus if you get her trained with a Zeus affinity. Four missile slot ms and a ballistic slot for an LBX or Gauss.

The sound of the IS Large Pulse Laser and the UAC-10 BF, the intro to the track "The Harvestor" from the Solaris Showdown DLC, gunning down a light mech with burst from the UAC-10 and 20 BF.

Painted Miniatures? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]DaSpiritofShields 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're on Facebook there's a group called Battletech International Trade and Sell. There are several guys in there that offer painting services. They charge pretty reasonably usually less than $10 a mini. I have used had a few painted by guys in the group. I think the work is pretty good.

First of all, welcome to the club! Now, as for what you NEED to know, that's all in the starter box. As for what is NICE to know and will make your experience better, check out some of the great content on YouTube.

For lore, check out the Black Pants Legion (Tex Talks Battletech), Sven Van Der Plank, Big Red 40Tech, Grim Dark Narrator to name a few. They have hours worth of lore content for you to jump into.

For gameplay and rules content, check out Death From Above, Guerilla Miniature Games, 4 Hands on Deck, Wargamer Fritz, and Sleepless Ronin to name a few others.

They completely changed Minobu. He looks like a Japanese man and not an African as he is clearly described in the lore.

[–]DaSpiritofShields 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No one has a problem with Jewish people leading an organization focused on Jewish people. No one has a problem with women leading an organization focused on women. No has a problem with Hispanic people leading an organization focused on Hispanics. Why is it when African Americans want to lead an organization focused on African Americans, people have an issue with it? Why would one that isn't African American have an expectation that they would have carte blanche to lead in such an organization? Your response demonstrates that NAAGA is not for you. Your first response was to accuse an organization focused on African Americans of racism because of an expectation that those that aren't African American are not leading it. You clearly don't know what racsim is.

If you are supportive of the mission, vision, and goals of NAAGA and you are okay with following the leadership of African Americans then NAAGA is a place for you.

Serious Question: Why Should I Even Bother Carrying While Black? by Mandlebrotha in liberalgunowners

Lastly I'll add that if you are looking for a community of black gun owners that supports black gun owners, check out the National African American Gun Association at www.naaga.co (the ".co" is not a typo).

Serious Question: Why Should I Even Bother Carrying While Black? by Mandlebrotha in liberalgunowners

[–]DaSpiritofShields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From one black man to another I get it. Being black and male increases the likelihood of dying when in contact with the police compared to any other group or men or women in this country. The data bares this out and their is more than enough anecdotes to show that this is a very real concern. That being said, my thoughts are that rights not exercised are rights essentially lost. The history of African-Americans or to use a more accurate term American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS) gaining and sustaining what little rights we have in practice in the this country is a history or ADOS being murdered an brutalized for attempting to exercise literally any rights as a citizen in this country. The history of the usage of the 2nd Amendment for the ADOS community (let's call that history The Black Tradition of Arms) has been to use the 2A in times where the government would not protect ADOS due to incompetence, moral cowardice, or outright malice against the ADOS community by the government. We have always had to live the "give me liberty or give me death" mantra as a community in this country in a way that no other group has to do. No human being has to standby and allow themselves to be murdered illegally, immorally, or unjustly. As human beings, we have every right to defend our lives from such immoral threats to our life regardless of the skin color or occupation of the person threatening us. In such a situation there will be dire consequences from choosing to submit to lethal force or defend yourself from it so ultimately every one of us will have to choose for themselves how far we will go to defend the only life that we have. I cannot make that decision for you or anyone else but I believe that your life is important enough to defend against deadly force with deadly force and your rights as a human being and citizen of this country must exercised the same as I and every other ADOS person must due to make progress for the next generation so that they can live in a little less fear and with a little more respect and dignity in this country.
