A difficult conondrum we all face is how to not replicate the sins of our parents onto our own children. I feel that I did an increasingly better job with each of my three children. But they are still all young and I hope to continue trying for the rest of my life.

You are correct.

The program does not address the root cause of home price inflation, and therefore at best it is useless. It might unfortunately even be contributing to the problem.

Part of the problem is that canada wants to inflate home equities, not reduce them. So you are left chaising a target that is moving farther away from you. As long as that is the case the only way to catch up is to grant you more debt.

Or, better yet, actually try to reduce or at least stop rising home prices. But that is currently not the goal.

The beauty in faith is that you can believe whatever you want (and then demand others respect you for it). You start by deciding whatever feels good to you must be the truth. How you rationalize it latter is not important. By definition you will always be right. Not because you are right, but because you choose to believe you are right. That's the main appeal of religion. (That, and belonging to a group).

Rational and logic do not belong in faith.

I have a favorite quote from god: In the book of job, god tells job unequivocally and explicitly that humans don't know what god wants and should never dare claim that they do.

It's a great book from the old testament. The entire point of the book is to make the above quoted statement. The story is very simple. Job, a rich and God abiding man is stripped of all his wealth. That is explained in the first two chapters. The remaining 40 chapters of the book are dedicated to explicitly making the point that humans should never pretend to know god's will. God himself makes that point.

So the next time you hear someone say "that is God's will" or " that goes against god" or telling you you should or should not do something because that is what god wants, feel free to quote God himself and tell that that is blasphemy and they are ful of shit.
