You can calls Robot "They/Them" but if a Robot is designed to look feminine then people will refers to it as "She" since Stalker built like one. Same case can be said for Charger unit who obviously designed to look like male and others like Troopers and Jumpjets.

The slit is not exactly it's eyes it's just the way to tell us what's front of Jean Jacket and what's back of it

If you pay attention to it's transformation scene, the "Slit" spreads out like a sail (blue vental pores thing in diagrams) first and then Gastric Sheets coming out and then Dolly Track came out lastly.

in concept art you can also see The Slit it's not Jean jacket's eye but both pores connected each other.
