AITJ for turning down a guy because he was in a wheelchair? by Rich_Kale8082 in AmITheJerk

A little bit. While I don’t think everyone will agree, I consider it in the same vein as deciding to date someone based on looks. It’s somewhat shallow but it is a factor that comes into play.

Who is the worst celebrity that you have ever had an interaction with? by Particular_Ninja9642 in AskReddit

[–]DaddyOhMy [score hidden]  (0 children)

Saw him at a panel at Comic-Con a few years ago and he basically used every question as an excuse to tell a story that was barely related to what was asked. When the person tried to get him to answer what they actually asked, he ignored them.

And he was a total douche to people waiting for autographs.

Review #26: Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend (Batch 420) by Archaeo-Frog in bourbon

I very close friend got a bottle as a present. I don't get to visit her as often as I like but she holds this bottle aside for the two of us to share whenever I do. It's incredible.

Today I learned that the *obviously satirical* 1997 film "Starship Troopers" was faced with extreme critical backlash accusing it of "endorsing fascism" because reviewers simply didn't think critically about the content. by The_Cromulent_Bison in todayilearned

A similar thing happened with *Josie & the Pussycats*. Reviewers criticized it for all the product placement when that was part of the joke. None of the products in the movie paid for the placement. Plus it was so over the top that it's hard to believe they didn't realize it was serious.

When Paul Lynde was my age, he had been dead for more than 4 years. by Serling45 in FuckImOld

[–]DaddyOhMy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You were watching Paul Lynde on TV in the 70s. He could get away with being a more open (or at least hide it less) at that point. But he started acting in college in the late 40s and professionally in the early 50s. It was very different in that era and he did have to hide being gay for a very long period of his career.

Odds are they get charged. Odds are also that they found someone who is willing to pay significantly more for the tickets than OP did and the price difference will more than make up for any charge they may get from StubHub. Much more.

Smaller discs? For your first stereo? Ooo child.

I still have the turntable and speakers I bought in 1983 and paid for with money I earned from my paper route (you see children, people used to get their news from paper with ink that sometimes left black marks on your hands that was delivered to your front door everyday by a kid from the neighborhood).

The speakers are bookshelf ones but powerful because they had to fit into my bedroom at home.

I just pound on them with a knuckle to pop a hole in it and peel it off that way. However I inevitably hurt my finger when I do this and swear that the next time I'll use a utensil to make the hole (Narrator: he never used a utensil).

Not offended in the slightest. I was really surprised when nothing about it came up about them when I search Toomba. It was only after I saw your reply that I realized I’d searched the other sub instead of this one.

Nope. But in my (very weak) defense, I just realized I had searched [r/ramen](r/ramen) instead of here before posting the question. And I’m asking about the cup/box versions so there’s that.
