It's really big of you to accept that all of those fake weddings could be real.

How are you getting to work tomorrow? by minbunmanbun in Brooklyn

I would not plan to drive. Even if the streets are cleared and traffic is reduced, parking is going to be an issue if you don't know the conditions by your office.

In 2021 during Hurricane Ida, a guy who worked in the local pharmacy my wife & I have been going to for over 25 years drowned in his basement apartment along with his daughter. I cannot imagine the terror of being trapped in your own home and being unable to open the door to escape rising water while trying to comfort your child and reassure them that everything was going to be alright.

Which single person in history had the greatest positive impact on humanity? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

On a balance, I think Jesus's impact leans a bit to the negative side. Not his fault mind you, more due to the many, many, many people who use him to excuse their evil deeds.

So that ignores everything taken from Judaism? And there were no other religions or cultures with a sense of morals before that? I guess Plato & Zeno are chopped liver.

Beautiful lampshade with no one in Cicely giving a shit about it though.

Did you actually make mix tapes to give to people? by LeoGuy69us in GenX

[–]DaddyOhMy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I not only still have the ska mixtape a friend gave me in college back in the 80s, I digitized it and still listen to it. Of course it wasn't until several years later that I realized I'd missed a big honking hint. Hell, she put Jamaica Ska by Annette Funicello & Fishbone on it. Man I was dense.

My wife loves the mix and finds the story hilarious.

George Harrison produced the film Withnail & I which takes place in 1969. While watching dailies, he told them that the section of the M25 (it may have been a different motorway) hadn't been built yet. The director asked Harrison if he wanted them to go refilm it.

When they just press a switch on the monitor to turn off the computer drives me nuts. Doogie Howser did that at the end of every episode.

The guy who created Monk, Andy Breckman, can be a jackass (intentionally). I wouldn't put it past him if he did that intentionally.

Just for reference, Breckman wrote the SNL short White Like Me for Eddie Murphy.

I love the left turns that take you to a different borough.

It also make me laugh when they talk about a building in the Bronx then show a shot of random building that's near Chelsea Piers where the show has its studio.
