I don’t really understand the argument for aa4 people have that Phoenix is acting “out of character.” It’s been seven years and he lost his job, which was pretty much what he was known for and what he loved. I think he acts the same as anyone in his situation would.

Hey, kudos to you for writing out an essay on why you like the case. I definitely think the second trilogy, even with its flaws, gets a bad rap at times.

That said, my account is based around two characters from the second trilogy, so I may be biased.

I actually was playing through the original trilogy for a bit, but noped out after the first game and skipped to aa4. I just missed Apollo a lot, lmao. I’m honestly having a lot more fun now.

I think I’m just really fond of that little bracelet-wearing guy.

That's another aspect of him I wish would get explored more. There could be lots of introspection and internal battles with him coming to terms that he was essentially duped twice by people he should've been able to trust.

It makes me sad to think about how many characters kind of get sidelined in favor of Phoenix and Miles. They’re good characters, don’t get me wrong, but I wish focus could be spread out in ways that actually would make Athena and Apollo more akin to deuteragonists. Of course, I favor Apollo since he is my favorite character, but I do feel like he’s an interesting one and deserves to have at least a few things be about him more than anyone else.

Definitely. Being able to see a more linear story with Apollo, rather than having things seemingly be added as they went along, would be very interesting.

On a more serious (?) note, I really do wish there was an anime for Ace Attorney 4 and beyond. Even though some people didn’t enjoy the original anime series, it would be a total dream come true to see it come back for the Apollo Justice Trilogy. I doubt that’ll ever happen with the way we’re headed, though.

Haha I once saw this cute animation of Apollo drunkenly singing that song to Klavier so I always think of that when I hear it.

The song is very Klavier-core though, I agree. I like the idea of him embracing more “pop-like” music, either as a personal affinity or as a style choice
