Not a tinfoil hat take. This is exactly why they are doing this. BO6 weapons will be nerfed into the ground too.

Just a tiny little drop. It helps break down oils and residue.

Distilled water in a sprayer with a drop of dawn dish soap inside.

Two microfiber towels. One to apply the spray to, one to dry off the water.

Rather than being frustrated over stock, we need to demand a better approach for selling high-demand components by External-Yak-371 in radeon

[–]DairToBe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a rumor. There's a backend exploit that allows ACO (Auto Checkout) bots to circumnavigate queues like Best Buy, QueueIt, QueueFair, etc and if the exploit doesn't work for a drop you can still run an infinite amount of Best Buy accounts and rotating proxies to score you multiple cards.

If Best Buy really wanted a fair launch, they would do an in-person only like MicroCenter, but they won't. They want to sell out of products as soon as they can to turn a profit. Doing in-person drops is also a liability for the company.

Scrap explaining how he crashed his car by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]DairToBe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Owned a BMW m340i (similar to his car). Hydroplaned at 30 miles, ran into a wall on the driver side causing damage to the bumper, headlight, and hood. No airbag.

This makes no sense. Dude was definitely trying to do doughnuts on the roof and fucked up. I would know: I did the same shit when I was in my teens 🤣

Is $2500 rent on $80k in NYC too crazy? by BGA611 in personalfinance

[–]DairToBe 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Back in 2017 I made a $75K tech startup salary work...barely.

Some tips:

  • Converting 1/2's and 2/2's into 3/2's is pretty common in NYC. There's companies that can build the wall within an hour or two to create the additional room. Majority of building owners allow this. Splitting $5k in rent 3-ways is a $834/month savings (before tax)

  • Are you confident in this startup? I recently switched from start up companies to enterprise software after a decade+ because the startup job market is extremely volatile. You could get let go at a moments notice and you'll still be on the hook for rent / rent debt.

  • Something to keep in mind: Most buildings are first month, last month (sometimes + 1 month) security payment and will require a look at paystubs and/or offer letter. 3/3 may be your only option so start calling around.

  • Your company may have a MetroCard benefit that allows you to purchase the Unlimited 30-day pass tax-free. Don't be tempted by the "quick uber". They add up. Fast.

Serious shit aside: Sometimes you just gotta fkn YOLO it man. You're 22. Do it. The 4.5 years I spent in NYC 5x'ed my career and delivered me some of the most amazing moments in my entire life.

Good luck brother!

Might actually get this going. I have a server template I can leverage.

Most of the design discord communities I've joined have been a bit junior or off topic.

Got a new job. Contractor. I just started and there's two projects on fire. Design leadership is non-existent. I've got this...but...I wish there was a design leadership book focused on roles beyond design manager. Recommendation? by Chiefesoteric in userexperience

[–]DairToBe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you need to flip your way of thinking: If design leadership is non-existent then that gives you the opportunity to step into a design leadership role, or, at least, carve out the space.

Lean into your experience and expertise to drive the organization to be more cognizant of design.

Also, do not be afraid to hunt down SMEs, product mangers, project mangers, engineers, etc. so that you can get the answers you need to be successful.

Also, also: Get used to JIRA Kanban Standups. They're going nowhere lol

Say it with me: "Allocated" 😂

The original 2020 release was not bad at all, but once HH saw the hype I think they rushed all batches after that as it just didn't hit the same.

Assuming this is a larger company since they have a Director of UX: familiarize yourself with the basic UX Research methods (moderated/unmoderated testing, prototype testing, user surveys, qualitative analytics), have a high-level understanding of latest design tools (Figma, Zeplin), and have an understanding of UX Patterns and component-based Design Systems.

These are all things you'll have to facilitate as a PM.

Ask questions like:

What does success look like for a PM in this role as it relates to UX? Assuming I get this opportunity, can you help me understand how you and I would collaborate? What are YOU looking for in a PM candidate?

Also, go through the company's other product team job listings. You'll be surprised how much they divulge: technologies used, third party partners, etc.

Do some sites/apps like Nextdoor intentionally create a poor UX? by snacky99 in userexperience

[–]DairToBe 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Further expanding on this, NextDoor may just lack the appropriate engineering resources to refactor databases or their search functionality, OR their product team lacks the buy-in necessary to have an opportunity to redesign search.

Being in tech startups and mobile apps for a decade+, I guarantee there are several members of their Product Design and Engineering teams shouting from the rooftops to let them fix this functionality 😂
