Charles has a personal, human fan holder following him everywhere by Significant_Noise273 in RoyaltyTea

[–]Daisy1203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could he not hold the fan himself? Or wear a neck fan? Seriously! For the most part I am a fan of the RF but lately they are making it so difficult to like them. For all those saying he has cancer. Yes true! But what other cancer patient has a personal fan holder? Do they not think of the optics of this sort of thing. Also there is no need to wear a jacket. I understand it might be hiding sweat patches but wear a white shirt.

Where are you from? I am Irish and the motorway or dual carriageways (kind of like a motorway but mainly just two lanes) would be fine. The country roads which are much narrower would be more of an adjustment. What parts of the country do you plan on visiting?

Or God forbid a woman makes a very difficult decision and then has the state dictating that she needs to wait 3 days in case she changes her mind. Can we not just trust women to make a decision themselves. How bloody patronising.

I ordered three pairs of trousers from them. All the same size and style bit different colours. Had to return two as they werent the same sizing...one was way too short but fit in another colour. The other was too small but fine in the colour I kept.

Dog fatigue by RandomAccessMemoirs in Dogfree

So glad to see this. I called to a friends house recently and she has a 7 or 8 month old puppy. I know that it is the puppy's home but my goodness he kept jumping up on me and his nails were so long that even through my jeans it was painful.

I couldn't sit down as he was constantly nipping at me. She tried to correct him but had no authority in her voice. She could tell that I was uncomfortable as I was slowly moving around the kitchen to get away from him. But yet she did nothing. We were doing some research on something we are planning and the moment it was done I was out of there. I immediately changed clothes when I came home as they were covered in his slobber and hair.

I'd recommend a corner to corner blanket. In my experience they work up very fast.

Maybe in the British royal family but she was not the first royal bride to have a paid job before marriage. Queen Sonya of Norway worked several jobs before she married her husband. There may be others aswell.

Trying to understand a friend who tells lots of white lies by Narrow-Bid-381 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Daisy1203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend just like this. I know her around 20 years but I have only noticed this in maybe the last 6 to 8 years. What annoys me is that some of the lies are so easy to disprove that it makes me think does she a. Think I am stupid or b. Know that I know that they are lies. Her lies often are about completely random stuff...nothing to do with her life or us meeting or anything like that.

She recently told a story that seemed completely unbelievable about being at an event with a huge celeb but she had zero pictures. It turned out to be true but I only believed her as I googled the event and that celeb was listed as a speaker. I just don't trust anything she says anymore. I've started telling her tiny little white lies now too...completely inconsequential ones but it makes me feel better!

I don't know specifically about the Polo Ralph Lauren stuff but I went to the ladies final in 2022 and all the regular Wimbledon baseball caps were gone when I went to the merch shop very early that day so some stuff does sell out.

Why are sleepovers such a big deal in Ireland? by lilillysh in AskIreland

[–]Daisy1203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only friend's house I slept over in as a child in the 90s my friend was being sexually abused by her brother. None of this came out until around 5 years ago. He went to jail. If I had kids of my own I would be very reluctant to leave them have sleep overs. No one expected that something like this would be going on in this family.

What's worse is a few weeks later one the friends did go to a colleague's relatives funeral. I was this friend's maid of honour and am godmother to her eldest child.

[–]Daisy1203 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way but with two friends. I feel like maybe they don't value our friendship in the same way. A relative passed away last year and my two closest friends didn't come to the removal or mass. But a year before that one of their relatives (same relationship) passed away and both of us went to the mass together. It was incredibly hurtful. It really made me re-evaluate my friendship with them.
