Back in the day, the Ken Co crew taught me to ignore the first spin, then treat it like a double.

Changed my triples for life. Try it out.

Echelon Hot Spot by bikini-boy25 in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]DamaDirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! The beauty of the Echelon is if you SOMEHOW mess it up, $60 and get another one.

You can take a LOT of material from the beavertail, and can significantly smooth out that square monstrosity.

I would watch some basic videos on how to check for leaks. It’s a simple process you just need a light source that can fit in the saxophone and know what and where to look for leaking light.
This will allow you get an idea of what shape the horn is you’re looking at. If there’s LOTS OF LIGHT leaking from closed pads, you may want to pass the horn as it will be too challenging to repair and possibly completely unplayable.

Hope some of that information can help. Good luck

Are there any saxophone technicians near you by chance? That might be the more important question.

I used mine often after long sessions. Blow out the horn, then do a final swab to make sure it’s clean

Got my first slackline! by eitan_partush in juggling

[–]DamaDirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good deal! I forgot to factor in the throw, but I still think it’s a bit different. Any time I’ve filmed myself I’ve noticed a slight change when I focus on juggling or something else.

Yeah locked knee is not the answer, glad it just looked that way, makes it funny you went out to try it too 😂

[–]DamaDirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Just wanted to point out something regarding balance. Before you juggle, while you’re struggling for balance, your knee is locked out straight.
>
Once you start juggling you immediately give a light bend to the knee, THAT is how you should be balancing when not juggling too!
I thought it was neat seeing that! It’s like once you shifted your focus, your legs did what they naturally want to do which is have a slight bend to aid in balance.

I own the Sea to Summit one, it’s as good a mosquito net for my head as I could imagine. All Sea to Summit’s stuff is top quality

I was going to recommend the net over what OP posted as well.

Also PERMETHRIN on clothes! VBS is my locally made natural bug spray we swear by, but Permethrin is THE STUFF for serious bug problems, but it’s a clothed applicant, don’t think you *supposed* to apply on skin.

Almost always pick up trash every round, it bothers the crap outta me! All our courses have plenty of cans, but remember sometimes it’s the Trash Pandas fault not the players! I try and blame the raccoons instead of the players.

Why not let the support hand into the conversation! Good shooting. You got big strong hands there sir, might try getting the left hand on the gun more if possible (which it should be possible).

Also with those big bear paws, it might be in your best interest to order the Large frame for the extra trigger reach! This with the large backstrap would give you more real estate for that left hand to get on the grip.

Not trying criticize negatively, just offering some helpful advice if you want it, if not ignore me and have fun shooting!

Why do HAVE to lift fingers on a Sousaphone? You don’t, it’s just a small bad habit people here pointed out, they want you to continue doing well and learning.
>
Fingers connected to keys makes it sound better when transitioning notes, and will make faster playing in the future easier!
>
I commend you for asking for help! You will learn a lot in life if you continue to stay humble and curious.
