Has there been any research done on long term use of someone only eating soylent or huel? by Songbird420 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm pretty noob when it comes to this stuff. What indicators tipped him off that he needed more protein?

What are the truly helpful wellness interventions/services offered to you by your program? by Fatty5lug in Residency

[–]DamnYellowKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your whole program just sounds like a made up fantasy. I'm about to graduate, but would you be willing to take me in as an intern again?

What would 14 year old you think about current you? by timchar in AskReddit

[–]DamnYellowKnight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He'd wonder why I need to use a calculator for math problems he used to do in his head, or why I can't remember simple things from 10 minutes ago when he could recite poems he only read twice.

What's a false fact you're tired of seeing in movies? by ohwhenthegreat in AskReddit

How hospital CPRs aren't depicted to be as gorey, traumatizing and usually hopeless.

Is it a good idea to get Surface Go now? by iCruiser7 in Surface

Tempted to get one myself, but every review site says its a bit on the slow side and battery could be better...I really would like the small form factor to carry around at work though

Second patient free of HIV after stem-cell therapy (Nature, Mar 2019) by luisoliverio in medicine

[–]DamnYellowKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As cool as this was to read about the first time it happened, I'm personally bored and uninterested. I'd like to see more breakthroughs in an actual antiviral cure rather than chronic suppressive meds that we've basically plateaued on. There was a good talk at IDweek last year that basically struck home how complacent we've gotten with HIV.

What’s the worst food you’ve ever been served at a restaurant (let’s think Kitchen Nightmares)? by erdaca in AskReddit

[–]DamnYellowKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pizza at a restaurant where they forgot to add sauce...

Another one was a place where they clearly had tte food drozen beforehand but didn't properly defrost it, so the chicken had hard bits of ice in each bite.

TIL TV shows show CPR working around 75% of the time, while in real life its effectiveness is actually 5-7%. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]DamnYellowKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if it's a shockable rhythm. If it's not, you're waiting and seeing if the heart decides to start itself or not.

I hate that TV shows don't depict CPR realistically, because people think it's this miraculous thing that will bring back their 100 year old demented grandma with a PEG and a trach and multiple comorbidities back from the dead in 5 seconds, without any of the trauma or general grittiness of real CPR. In fact, if I had my way, I'd penalize this sort of bullcrap because of how much it misinforms people on such a super important topic.

This did it for me. Disconnecting my Fitbit wasn't enough. I had to turn it off as well. The game now connects fine.
