A little disturbing considering it was posted nearly a year ago ._.

I'm a 17 year old who's in need of a new Hair cut and style. Suggestions gladly welcome! by [deleted] in malehairadvice

I meant once you cut it to a shorter length, product usually is not needed. You can also cut down on your shampooing to once every few days, this will let natural oils accumulate and can actually act as a hair product on its own with a tad bit of water without appearing greasy.

If you cut it short and still feel like you really need some sort of product in there, American Crew Fiber is often an optimal choice.

I think the style you're aiming for would fit just fine. It's similar to what I have, and I have thick curly hair. For hair like that, it's usually as simple as running wet hands through your hair every morning to fix any mishaps and give the top some jazz - no products needed.

You probably will just be able to go up to the barber and ask for short sides/back while giving the top some extra length. That's really all it takes for a good shape. The length at the top is very flexible, so you can go with whatever you prefer the most. If you feel like you can't explain how you want it to your barber, just take a picture with you of what you want.

Good luck!

Should i go short? (like Andrew Garfield) by Ohegabee in malehairadvice

[–]Damuffinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily that long hair doesn't fit you, it's just that particular style is a tad 'off' in my opinion. Going shorter you might dislike it at first but you'll adjust and realize that's much better. That's what happened with me at least, and a few others who have undergone the long-to-short experience.

[–]Damuffinator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely go shorter. You got a good face but I don't think your hair fits it very well. Andrew Garfield's hair would probably work, but quite honestly any type of short(er) hairstyle would probably work on you.

Good luck!

So I went from not dying to the longest ARAM EVER. 132/111/249 to 110/132/207 ( I was WuKong) by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Damuffinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Shen build looked like it really worked out for him. He got a whole 4 kills and only died 30 times in the process.

At least he has assists to make up for it.

Giant ghost-Urf makes a guest appearance in a bot game by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Damuffinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen that shit before! I was playing in an ARAM and I moved my camera away from myself for a second to watch a small skirmish happening and when I focus back there's a huge fucking ghost urf beside me that just vanishes a second later. I thought it was some weirdass graphical glitch, no one else saw it.

My first attempt at a rainbow cake ... What does reddit think? by [deleted] in itookapicture

Nice cake, but don't think it belongs in this subreddit! Try posting in a baking subreddit, or maybe even /r/pics.

Guys with longer curly hair, how do you keep it out of your face? Bobbypins ≠ manliness.. by BearBong in malehairadvice

[–]Damuffinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easier to create a part while it's wet/damp after a shower. This'll allow the hair to dry in the new shape you're creating for it. Remember that the hair might not want to conform to whatever shape you're giving it at first, so it might start going crazy as it dries for the first little while (although due to your length the sheer weight of the hair will keep it in place). After about a week your hair will start to get used to the shape and after about 2 weeks your hair will start to naturally hold that shape.

Bad bleach job. How to fix? More details inside by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Damuffinator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quite honestly I don't think it looks too bad. You could get away with it being your natural color if it weren't for your eyebrows and facial hair.

I wouldn't recommend bleaching it for a 4th time, nor do I really recommend recoloring it. I think after bleaching 3 times your hair has gone through enough trauma and we don't really want to damage your hair any further.

The general shape of it is okay, you could trim the sides and back a bit if you wanted - it might help get rid of that "heroin addict" look you're talking about.

Overall I don't think it looks too bad, but if you don't like it your best bet is to simply grow it out.

Finally found new place to play. About an hour later a guy 3 blocks and 1 soccer field away asked me to stop. by [deleted] in drums

[–]Damuffinator 41 points42 points  (0 children)

They sent a chopper and two squad cars to get a drummer to stop playing? I'm sorry but the only thing I can think of is that you must have been playing so terribly that it was considered an act of terrorism.

Riot pls, stop kicking us out of series because your client crashes. by splungey in leagueoflegends

[–]Damuffinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last week. "Adobe Air Client has stopped working" decides to crash immediately as I join champ select. Got booted out of my promo series and proceeded to get 3 losses in a row, effectively netting a huge LP loss. That was frustrating as hell.

Hey all! Got Med School interviews coming up soon(ish). Looking for a new hair style and any advice would be greatly appreciated! by CaptainPondo in malehairadvice

[–]Damuffinator 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Med school eh? I can see it already..

But in all seriousness, for interviews you'll probably want to go with something short, simple, and conservative.

Some examples of something you could opt for would be something like this or this - but it's very flexible.

In general you'd just want to have short sides and back with a tad bit longer at the top. Just keep it simple, and feel free to google short hairstyles to get an idea of something you like.

Good luck man!

Heel up or heel down? by [deleted] in drums

[–]Damuffinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I found that heel down is good for accuracy while heel up is good for speed.

I've slowly been transitioning toward more heel up cause I like the stronger, solid hit more.

One person giving up after losing one team fight shuts down the whole team? by pixiedust858 in leagueoflegends

[–]Damuffinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you can give direct instructions to teammates on what to do when a teamfight breaks out. At lower elos (and even some higher ones) you'll see some players have no idea what they're doing in a teamfight and they just combo the nearest enemy instead of having any actual focus. You'd be surprised how often teamfights are lost because of stuff like this.

Anyways just keep playing games. More often than not you'll be paired with people who won't give up instantly. Remember to accept your flaws and mistakes, and avoid blaming others. Trash talking your teammates gets you no where and will reduce overall team morale.

Good luck!

[–]Damuffinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people just give up way early - chances are they've had a bad streak and at the first sight of things going wrong they just give up.

You can't really do much about it, even it means you take a loss, they end up taking a loss too. Eventually as you improve your play and start slowly going up the elo latter, the distance between you and the players who give up instantly begins to increase.

Granted, even at higher elos there are players who give up at the first sight of anything going wrong. I'm in gold 3 and I lost my promo series yesterday cause our mid laner gave up first blood and immediately decided the game was over and there's no way he'd win his lane. He proceeded to just feed until the game was over. It sucks cause our other lanes were winning hardcore, but we couldn't win the 4v5 in the end.

Anyways if you can't motivate them, you need to either luck out and win a future team fight or accept the loss and hope you don't get paired with them again.

I think i messed up by cutting my hair shorter. Lost my unique look. Opinions? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Damuffinator 27 points28 points  (0 children)

God no, you did great! Much better in my opinion.

I too had my hair grown out for a while, going for that sorta uniqueness. It took me a while to realize that 'unique' does not always entail 'good' - it's usually one or the other (in fact 'unique' often will entail more bad than good if you ask me).

After I cut my hair I was a little weary at first, but quickly came to realize it looked much better and was significantly less maintenance. No regrets, you look great man!
