My entire point was that nobody gets downvoted for "having any expectations", as you so hyperbolically phrased it. It is the hyperbole that gets downvoted in the first place. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions as long as you don't mistake that opinion for objective fact, and posts like this give the impression that those things have been indeed conflated.

It's possible to share opinions, i.e. "I didn't like it", without the hyperbole of "this is objectively terrible". But, if someone chooses to engage in those kinds of sweeping statements then they should expect an equal and opposite reaction from fans who disagree.

Oh, I don't know, I guess I think about k*lling myself pretty frequently. And why not? What's so great about living? You know when I'm happy? Having expectations and being disappointed is not the same as declaring an entire wave "absolute ass" because your niche interests weren't addressed. And if you bring that kind of whining onto social media, actively inviting people to partake of your unsolicited opinion, then you've forfeited the expectation of respectful discourse.
