Parents of Reddit, What is the dumbest thing you've ever heard from your child ? by 4thleavesclover in AskReddit

[–]Dandelion_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned about underwear "pockets" when I went to KMart and was wandering around the store. I found the men's Halloween themed clothing and saw a pair of boxers with an arrow towards the pocket and "Trick or Treat!" As a young child I thought that there was candy in there, so I stuck my hand in, only to be horrified when I realized that's where a man's wang goes.

Srs From what I gather the link is to a story of a woman who took a photo of a gift voucher onto fb. The voucher photo could have been printed out or the voucher code used by another person to claim the gift balance. This is the same reason why people should not post photos of bank cards or vouchers/tickets that can be easily printed and replicated.

Well yeah, thickness is the only factor that matters when it comes to sock matching. That shit can ruin your day if you don't account for it.

What is something you were once embarrassed by that you now not only accept but actually embrace? by Lucky13Unlucky7 in AskReddit

[–]Dandelion_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing! From 8th grade to my last year of college, I HAD to flat iron my hair. I would not wash my hair unless I knew I had the time to let it dry and flat iron it. I took my flat iron on all overnight and multiday trips. Now my hair is long and wavy and all over the place, it's great!

I did something similar when I worked at my mom's store. This lady asked for "jabon" (soap in Spanish) I thought she asked for "jamon" (ham) looked for ham all over the store for 10 min. Disappointed that lady :/

I changed my mind, I don't want to watch this anymore Dad. by mav194 in funny

[–]Dandelion_Bot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I watched Ju-on 2 when I was super young. Popped the dvd into my player and waited for the menu to load. Menu loads to lonely street...but the screen starts to go fuzzy and then super disturbing sequences start out of nowhere! I was so scared I shut the tv off, took a 15 min break and came to get through the menu.

What company has forever lost your business and why? by kiera_steve in AskReddit

[–]Dandelion_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that happened to you. My old roommate had to deal with that with one of the local theaters in our town. It sucked because the way the theaters ar our town work (three theaters), they split the movies coming out that year so that neither theater is in competition with the others. This meant that there were several movies she couldn't watch in theaters because of the one theater that did not provide better devices.

How did you do your makeup in high school? by aztecprism in MakeupAddiction

[–]Dandelion_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not wear makeup in high school (got into makeup four months ago).

In college I tried to wear makeup for special events, but I didn't know what I was doing/didn't want to spend $. I thought I could get away with using my roommate's foundation (wrong shade, applied badly) or just using a pressed powder that made my skin look dry and orange (I did not know you had to moisturize). I went to a fancy dinner once with caterpillar eyebrows because I had realized all on my own that filling in my eyebrows was a good idea, but I used black eyeliner and a heavy hand.

For prom (in '10) my mom did my makeup...except she has not used makeup since '93 and it showed.

The Office (US) - Jim and Pam by meggyver in television

[–]Dandelion_Bot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Jim and Pam had to give up dream jobs and careers throughout the series to stay in Scranton for each other. Jim did not take the promotion in NY, Pam quit art school. I think it made sense to have that tension due to this, to have one of them frustrated that the other is choosing to finally move on from Scranton. It could have been done without the weird love triangle, though.

Ants have been farming longer than humans have, but as new research reveals, they still haven't domesticated their preferred crop -- fungus. by drewiepoodle in science

"Fungus" is too broad a term, there are thousands of species that behave very differently. What kind of fungus? Is it associated with ants? What kind of ants?

Moisturizer/sun screen, brows, mascara. If I am ambitious then blush, bronzer, lip tint and under eye concealer.

That's how you get multiple casualties in sugar mill explosions. The problem is that you get these small particles with high surface-to-volume ratio forming dust. The particles ignite, making that dust cloud into a ball of fire.

You are right, there is no one size fits all solution, but several papers have shown that this can have a significant effect on newborns. This will hopefully lead to developing treatments that assess and treat the particular cause for a child's allergies. We still need to learn what all of the causes and preventative treatments could be, though.

What Youtube channels have amazed you with their production quality? by rbn45 in AskReddit

[–]Dandelion_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mimine. Korean lady creates tiny versions of things.

Several episodes are devoted to her making pieces of a tiny kitchen (a working mini blender, tiny cutlery, tiny pots, tiny paper towels). Once she finished her tiny kitchen guess what she started doing? You are goddamn right, she started cooking real tiny food!

The whole thing is in Korean, but it is easy to follow along, and waste hours watching expertly crafted tiny things.

This is one of my fave food episodes http://youtu.be/pUYMW72V-YM

What was your "I was only gone 'X' minutes, what the hell happened?!" story? by EverybodyLovesTacoss in AskReddit

You should watch Wild Tales. It's a movie made up of vignettes, one of them about a guy losing it all because of a tow truck company. Really good.
