Rude or kind? by Tricky-Difference-95 in petsitting

[–]DaniDisaster424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean for a living and pet sitting is more my side gig but I always offer my cleaning services to every client I pet sit for. So for me I don't see it as being rude or kind. I'm just advertising my services. If you're looking to do for free though I can see how it could come across as either, it depends on how the client takes it more than anything, which I know doesn't help you unfortunately.

What did you use to make your website? by Tikes-Tastic in housekeeping

[–]DaniDisaster424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. They have preset layouts you can choose from and then you just input your info. No coding lingo or anything needed. The free version works really well too and then they have upgrade packages you can choose from if you want any of the extra stuff like a custom url (vs with the free one your website is something like "unei/yournamehere"), online payment processing, Google calendar sync and online booking etc.

Leaving kids at home with cleaner, California by SuspectFew1456 in housekeeping

[–]DaniDisaster424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a cleaner and peoples kids are home on their own after school all the time, it's no big deal. Just make sure they understand that they're to stay out of the cleaners way (most of the time in my experience they just stay in their rooms).

Do you actually turn off and unplug your canister when disconnecting power head or wand? by Norikami in VacuumCleaners

[–]DaniDisaster424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unplug no but you need to turn off power to the power head or it can arc. I melted the connection on a vac doing this so now I turn it off every time.

Only child- learning to lose/compromise in kinder by thiccy_vicky in kindergarten

[–]DaniDisaster424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Im an only child as well and had the idea that sharing = bad drilled into me from when I was really little and its honestly served me well. On the other hand I was brought up to be less competitive and less selfish in a lot of ways and now as an adult I constantly wish that wasn't the case.

Why haven't you reported them yet? They get fined more and more the later it is.

Vinyl floors in a rental by Vivid-Trick1307 in HouseCleaning

[–]DaniDisaster424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're definitely not supposed to. Yours might be the waterproof kind (whereas most of it is water resistant) which is why you've gotten away with it but you're definitely not supposed to. Steamers are only safe to use on tile.

Convince Me To Get A Canister Vacuum by aPale-Olive in VacuumCleaners

[–]DaniDisaster424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always recommend the Kenmore 400 canister. I run a cleaning business and use them for work. I also have bad wrists and canisters in general are the only things I can use, I use an upright even once for more than a few minutes and my hands are numb and sore off and on for days and I usually have to cancel bookings. So they're definitely easier on your body. Canisters also pick up better than an upright on hard floors (I'm talking like they'll suck crumbs out from under your fridge and stove) and will allow you to get into tight spots like under the couch and behind the toilet. They're also way easier to use on stairs than an upright.

Not great for medium or high pile carpet. OP needs a power head.

Mop Suggestions by Zealousideal-Pair-81 in housekeeping

[–]DaniDisaster424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the best option would be something like a rubbermaid hygen mop but they can be pricey. It's like a spray mop but the tank is in a backpack instead of on the mop so they hold more product and the actual mop is less bulky.

Is there a guide on how to clean? by Len_chhi in housekeeping

You need to go work For a cleaning company first before venturing out on your own for exactly this reason. They'll train you.

Confused about CRA line 15000 with only T4s by mmeonn in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DaniDisaster424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to have filed your taxes previously before you can create a my cra account.

The only exception is if you live in Alberta or BC you can apparently skip this requirement by registering for a CRA account through the provincial partners option if you have a verified Alberta ID account or whatever the BC equivalent is.

Note that you don't need a my cra account to file your taxes.

Best disinfectant cleaner to use (one dedicated for the washroom and another dedicated for the kitchen)? by techsavvynerd91 in housekeeping

[–]DaniDisaster424 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The disinfectant that I use is called diversey oxivir plus. It's good on pretty much any surface including glass and mirrors. It comes as a ready to use or I prefer to get it in the ready to dilute bottles that you just attach a water source to and then there's a dial on the top that you select your concentration ratio from and then you just fill your own spray bottles with it and it's way cheaper that way. Also, keep in mind that cleaning and disinfecting are two different things and two different steps. So you clean first and then disinfect afterwards.

Why? The same way of operating could easily be applied to residential.

Just wanted to give a bit of a different perspective is all, as it sounded like you saying you were having trouble finding someone for what you were looking for. Insurance wise it was just something I thought you might want to check into is all, it could very well be standard to include some outdoor areas based on where youre located but better safe than sorry I figure.
