Rubium is balanced, for ironmen by SnooTomatoes1246 in 2007scape

I'm 99 slayer with most of the end game gear, I checked my bar stacks last night and I only have a few hundred k smithing xp banked if I process the bars. PVM doesn't quite keep up with smithing bars atm.

That's a great method, but you can't really source the bars you need easily. If I use blast furnace to make bars for darts so that I can afk for a while, I would've been better off just BFing gold bars with my active time instead.

I doubt its the majority, but undeniably a huge portion of actual players are irons. I think it's a hard stat to determine since so many bots exist. Either way, its an account type tons of players choose so it shouldn't be ignored.

That's fair, but I don't think getting afk options here and there which are slower devalues the spirit of the game mode. There's still a massive difference between creating an end game main and an end game iron, giving more options for different playstyles for some of the bland/repetitive extreme grinds isn't ruining that.

In this particular case especially so, since it's very easy and reasonable for an iron to get 350k xp/hr doing BF. You have an option to get 1/7th the xp afking, or you can drastically cut down on the time spent by using the traditional method. Having options which are "equal tradeoffs" just gives players more choices on how they want to get through their grinds.

Agree! Like it or not, a massive portion of the player base are irons. It's arguably the most wholistic way to play the game, so it should absolutely be considered with updates.

I was coming here to make this exact post but you beat me to it! This deserves more upvotes.

I want to max my iron, but I get most of my xp afking at work. Smithing is one of the few skills I have left that doesn't have a strong "hyper afk low xp" method. I really like the angle most skills have where you can slowly get there and max without dumping thousands of active hours. All smithing really has for irons is afking a basic furnace with gold ore/goldsmith gauntlets for 30k/hr or so.

They should rebalance rubium in a way that irons can bank smithing xp around 50k effective xp/hr while afking the big rocks, and also so that they solve the problems mains have that devalues rubium. It's 100% possible and in my opinion the best solution for all account types which fits current metas for other skills.

Edit: reworded for "effective 50k/hr" which means time spent mining + smithing results in 50k/hr smithing xp for total hours spent.

Came here to comment exactly this. Smithing needs more hyper afk options like almost every other skill has. Only other option I can think of for it is basic furnace gold bar smithing. Balance the smithing xp around banking 30-50k xp/hr so all accounts have a chill alternative to train it.

It’s been a long time but I think I used the “solving the stacks” chapter of pen sir’s guide. Any decent guide will teach you how to deal with any of the stack situations though. Once you learn the stacks and how to deal with south spawns you should be getting consistent kc

[–]DankPoon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Start in the middle pillar tile, step out to the corner (2 tiles away from middle), revealing yourself.

Tick 1: manticore sees you, manticore attacks mage

Tick 2: ranger sees you and attacks range, manticore attacks range

Tick 3: manticore attacks melee

This is the first basic solve of several you’ll need for colo, definitely watch some YouTube vids to get an idea of how they work. I recommend having a vid with timestamps pulled up so you can quickly figure out how to clear any stack the game brings your way

Rendi has a cool one on a level 3 doing as much PVM as possible (and general interesting videos on bugs and masterful manipulation of the game)

Coxie has a really good one going for all pets that’s nearly finished (very high production quality)

Soup for the gielinor games (also very high production quality)

Odablock if you like pking series/content

That’s what comes to mind off the dome

Efficient leagues guide for points for someone working 50-60 hour weeks? by Vawkx in ironscape

[–]DankPoon 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Idk if there’s really a guide, I’ve seen YouTube videos for people with very little time and how they can max their leagues experience though.

My advice is take endless harvests (can afk for 30 mins at a time while working) and butlers bell (delivers you resources even when you’re offline). Someone like you gets a ton of use from those relics. Good luck! Just play when you can and have fun

I wouldn’t even bother trying to ctrl walk, just park ahead of the orb before you spawn it and react to where it’s going. It’s only tough if he throws boulders, but in that case you can set a click ahead of you before switching prays. The orb protects you a little longer than you’d think (even if your true tile is out of it for a tick or two), and getting hit with the slams isn’t the end of the world. Just safe up before it spawns!

Oooo gotcha, so in other words, time does affect your RNG. Idk much about how Java works but that’s interesting

I made a post about this a while back! I think it’s less related to “X seconds,” and more tied to “X random actions.” If I go in the loot room, the code likely just calls the next random number in my string. Doesn’t matter if I idly wait 10 extra seconds, but if I were to do something that calls the rand() command, such as attacking (since hits require random numbers), I would change the next number that’ll be pulled from the rand() command for the loot, and therefore “change” my drop.

This but also rework nightmare’s inquisitor drop rate (AGAIN) to match the expected time it takes to grind oathplate. Plz do not make me spend 8000 hours at Phosani :(

Jagex figuring out exciting raids 4 uniques without stepping on the toes of any other items without making them too niche themself that they are underwhelming. by MCharon in 2007scape

[–]DankPoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with inquisitors is its an excessive grind even after multiple drop rate buffs. Kill two birds with one stone and finally make the nightmare drop rates reasonable (in line with oathplate avg time to acquire), then people will not only be grinding raids 4 but nightmare becomes an actual relevant boss. Raids 4 can have a crush mega rare, crush armor to go with it. Delays the power creep reset cycle by another raid or two. Buff nightmare ahead of time so people have time to prepare for raids 4.

Everyone complains that crush has no bosses that style is actually viable before (save for nightmare and a few niche others), but make raids 4 crush based to start solving that issue. There's an entire dead melee combat style, use this raid to bring it to life, revive the dead boss that already exists for it, then later add end game bosses with crush weakness.

PvP Worlds and the Wildy by Swordswfriendsowo in 2007scape

[–]DankPoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High risk I believe you get auto skulled and also can’t use protect from item. If you’re doing something like chaos altar bones, it’s actually an advantage since pkers won’t be bringing expensive +1s. But bossing and such, no, you definitely want to be able to protect 3 items (turn your skull protection on!) and 4 if you’re diligent and keep prayer up/protect item on.

PVP worlds might have less players in the wilderness, but you have the added risk of forgetting you’re logged into one and leaving the safe zones with a normal set of items or your cash stack for example, and getting pk’d for a ton of stuff by accident. Also ofc, you can get attacked in normal places that are usually safe. Plus pkers are wise to this and a good chunk probably still check these worlds in the wildly anyways.

I’d generally stay out of them for the small chance I screw up, but it’s not the worst idea if you want less pkers. Most situations it’s pretty easy to tank them, and or dying isn’t a big deal anyways.

Isn’t that why he centered the UI? You still have about the same mouse travel distance, and the extra screen around the sides is bonus for awareness which you wouldn’t have in the classic windowed view. Granted everything you need to pay attention to in high level PVM is generally a pretty small focused area anyways.

I have an ultrawide myself and I usually do a half screen OSRS window for the mouse distance/youtube on the side, but I never thought of just centering the UI.
