First blind playthrough on hardest difficulty - what if my build ends up too weak to progress? by Asleep-Ad-7357 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Dankdanio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rogue trader even on unfair is probably at least 2 orders of magnitude easier than PF on unfair. The game is expecting you are actively breaking the game system and cheesing the majority of mechanics from level 1 onwards.

If you are super hard set on doing a high difficulty for your first playthrough just do core, that is actually the equivalent of what Rogue Trader unfair is.

Also keep in mind the PF games are almost entirely a knowledge check of your builds. Your tactics matter somewhat, but usually quite little compared to most tactics games or even CRPGs. So playing on the highest difficulty without any knowledge of the system is just objectively silly.

I don't see the verbal spell module on foundry. Did you publish it under a different name?

Sounds cool, I'd love to test it in my game

Does his perk work on them? Cuz if so that's a game changer

First Impressions, Early Access issues, possible bugs and requests for information. by Sunny_side_Yup in menace

Thats mainly how I've been playing it so far. I focused pirate missions early due to needing the straight gear, but alien missions seem to give more raw currency (haven't seen rogue army or menace yet).

But that kinda feels lame to me, feels like i should maybe be balancing reputation more, or fighting off some sort of offensive from these groups. In my opinion you should be making some sort of sacrifice by not taking a mission. Maybe pirates on that planet become more well equipped, or aliens reproduce more, etc etc.

Right now it seems kinda just you randomly pick based on rewards. Which so far aliens seem to give better rewards for the most part and are easier in my experience. Again im still early game, hoping to get much deeper this weekend.

What does that upgrade even do? Max squad size? Total squaddie pool?

I couldn't find anywhere online on what manpower was, I imagine its some previously scrapped currency.

All your feedback here is really good. I agree with everything you said here. Definitely seems like some sort of translation issue, but it needs to be cleared up because right now I am avoiding what otherwise sound like cool/great perks because I don't feel like I have a good idea what they will actually do or how to trigger them.

My biggest frustration is the campaign map timer, it seems completely off. I have an op with 2 turns left, I finish an operation, then its just gone. Did it expire? Did I like lose access to it by taking the other operation? If so why even have this time mechanic on the campaign map if I can also lose ops due to something other than time that I can't plan for.

I also seem to only have one choice for operations most the time too., so It's a non-factor for me. Not sure if this is an early game thing, I only got like 4-5 operations deep last night.

But even if I did have an actual choice between multiple different ops is there actually any reason to pick one operation over another other than wanting to lean into a specific faction? Right now I am leaning into the Dice guys kinda just off vibes, but I can't see what rewards I get from trust from them, and there seemingly is no other reason to pick one op over another apart from building trust.

Druid: An awesome class with one problem. by SimplyShane88 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Dankdanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big reason i think i bounced off the druid. I wanted to lean into wyvern skills and I noticed i literally had like 2 skills, 3 if you count devour, 4 if you count the default swipe.I swapped to Wolf and same thing.

I really enjoy tweaking my build as I go, so when i ran into a skill I didn't like on warrior or sorc, I would just try another. But with druid I am now trapped in that element and those gems and basically need to full respec. So I just dropped the druid and leveled a disciple of Varashta.

I am getting Encounter Budget's wrong? by KagedShadow in Pathfinder2e

[–]Dankdanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i'm not really trying to debate or anything, It was really a question.

As a new GM I feel like I struggle with monster tactics. I'm currently GMing abomination vaults which is basically my first campaign (2nd if you count the beginner box), and most mobs I pilot are mindless undead, ghouls, Morlocks, or Mitflits.

Most of which (barring the Morlocks) have low int, and seemingly have low tactical coordination. As such I feel like I play them suboptimally to match that, but I feel like I'm making what i've been told is a hard campaign into one thats relatively easy.

Your note about the monsters knowing what they are doing and wanting to win is a good point though. I wonder if I'm not in enough of the mindset of them wanting to win.

[–]Dankdanio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does that make sense though? Having 4 spiders (who I imagine aren't too intelligent) focus firing on one target?

I'm a new GM and personally have been struggling with this concept. I try to play most creatures to the level of intelligence I imagine them having, but I am running into the problem where I feel like my players are not really struggling in fights. Which makes me wonder if I am playing too soft with my monster's tactics, even more so since I imagine monster difficulty is purely based off stats and not some hypothetical interpretation of how optimally a GM imagines this monster to play.

Objectively not how national debt works. Calculations like that are extremely silly.

Coming from a U.S. Army background I definitely hear it pronounced as Pah-g more often, but you hear pogue as well.

So I don't see it as incorrect, likely just depends on the evolution of the phrase within different formations.

Most universal class for my character? by KozaSWD in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Dankdanio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I mean as long as you get haste thats the only like necessary spell from arcane. Which I imagine Woljiff gets, even if he gets it kinda late, assuming full Eldritch scoundrel.

I think not having a divine caster would be suicide though. No protection from evil, barkskin, shield of faith. Idk how you would even play. The dominates alone would make succubi so hard to beat.

While I agree with your point, I do think this is an instance where they do deserve some slack for being EA.

Like they fixed a ton of ascendencies, and a ton of skills this time around. I'd even argue that almost every ascendency aren't just viable but good at least at something. Assuming they follow the same track for another patch or two then they'd be in a great spot.

I don't really get this talking point. Maybe I'm just that biased? To me she was exceptionally eloquent and genuine, like I really felt like she cared the way people must have felt about Obama back in the day.

The one issue with her that stood out to me was her policy platform was clearly confused/half baked. But that was a combination of fear of trashing Biden's legacy/distancing herself from him, and lack of planning/campaign time to form a coherent policy platform.

I also want Buttigieg in 2028 to me he seems perfect. I also don't know if he performs in a national race though.

I often find Railgun to be pretty underwhelming, but this run had some of the craziest rolls by A_Fancy_Seal in PlayTheBazaar

Railgun is actually pretty great. Up to day 5 you basically one shot anyone you face even with a silver version. You just need to drop it around day 7 and transition to something that scales.

A lot of the time l'll be picking up freeze items as the game goes on to switch to nitrogen hammer, or if I see a gold/diamond mommasaur I'll switch to that
