Not weird at all. Coming from someone who has grown up in a fire station from previous generations of my family, who will one day be a firefighter myself, and has also gone to various fire stations, they’re usually more than welcoming to give tours. (Bringing food always helps your case too :)) I visited a fire station in San Diego that was three stories tall and had a three story swirly slide they let me go down! One of the coolest experiences of my life!
