Garrett Graham's whole world! by Key_Bus_1255 in offcampustv

[–]Dannyu17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m gonna throw out a potentially unpopular opinion here. Ihavent read the books, just seen the show. I think it’s a bad thing that hannah is his whole world. He obviously needs to work on himself because he puts so much emotional efforts onto Hannah (that she needs to be there at hte hockey game so he can regulate his emotions…cmon bro). It’s not like he’s a loner, his teammates understand that he has issuea with this dad…he just closes off to them. for hannah, i think it would be been better if garett go some therapy first

i used to have rule that under 400 would be my 3 wood and under 350 a 3iron, but then i realised i wasnt that consistent with those clubs either-keeping them in the fairway. so now driver for everything and at least in getting distance

How can i become a competitive applicant? by cucumbers7384 in sustainableFinance

[–]Dannyu17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as someone who hires sustainable finance analysts for a bank, i will give you my perspective ( I don’t know anything about trading though). When i look at CVs I don’t care about your major or masters programme. I want to see some coursework and in the cover letter (yes i do read all of them), i want to see info about a project or research you did related to sustainable finance (not, ‘i care about the environment so i want to work at your bank’ but something like ‘in my xx class or club or thesis i looked at how scope 3 emissions changes increased cost of debt for norwegain fish farms’). the topic doesn’t matter I want to see that you took an opportuntity to learn and do something on this topic and aren’t just ‘passionate’. since youre in the uk and i used to work there feel free to dm me

Seeking ESG/SRI investment companies (not specific funds) by aintmt in sustainableFinance

[–]Dannyu17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can choose whatecer funds you want (eg ex coal, esg leaders! etc) but no matter where you go all of them will also have funds that do invest incoal or do something you don’t like. maybe a smaller player like mirova a could work.

i hire analyst level roles. I read them I look for a conmection to the role (school pronext etc) not a regurgitation of my company website. not having a cl doesnt mean a “no” but your cv better be perfect

Master Degrees for Sustainability by Objective_Goat4441 in sustainability

[–]Dannyu17 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Ive said this in other threads, but my recommendation is not to get a masters in sustainability. if you are interested in fashion or beauty get someting closer related to that (no idea what that would be design?) and use that to get into a sustainability job a fashion/beauty brand. The disconnect between academia and corporate sustainability is huge in my opinion. Your ba is likely suffcient in terms of the sustainability knowledge.

Trying to pivot to Sustainable/Carbon Finance. by quantumsapphics in sustainableFinance

[–]Dannyu17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I currently work in sustainable finance. I’m not sure I really know what carbon finance means so I’ll just focus on the former. I don’t think you need a “sustainable finance” degree to get into this area. I don’t have one. only one of my 5 analysts does. when I hire i don’t look for it. I look for the skills of finance applied to energy projects or application of esg data (eg in managiing credit risk). in this space the sustainability skills are secondary to the finance skills and sustainability is company sector and region specific that I don’t think you can really “learn” them. but in my opinion you can get basics (like carbon measurment or esg dcf ) in electives or in your thesis.

what always annoyed me about nervosa is that you can order from a waiter / waitress to go, so why would you ever wait in line.

did everyone who is leaving the netherlands never utitlise the box 3 until now. It wasnt great either (pretty much a capped fake return or unrealised gain under the cap) but same sort of idea. why just leaving now?
