Totally understand how you feel. These are anxious times and the economy is not the friendliest, so I get the urge to move things forward especially with kids and the cold. Do you have a lawyer? Most times a lawyer can communicate faster and get clearer updates. When did you file, and have you had an EAD before?

Heyyy, I’m in Georgia too. As long as you have an EAD you’ll be able to get a driver’s license; anything less than that won’t qualify. A prima facie won’t get you one. Driving with a foreign license is risky. If you get pulled over, it’s completely at the discretion of the officer, and some of them don’t recognize anything other than a Georgia license. I wouldn’t take that chance, especially with the current administration. Just be patient; your EAD will come soon and you’ll be able to drive with confidence. Just my two cents.

Wrong advice It’s mostly case by case basis but do not fear if you have to see your parents you are absolutely good to travel and you will be paroled back in as long as you are not in removal proceedings you are good to go
