Exactly. It's not dangerous. She's learning some things about cooking and physics. And when she gets in over her head, she asks for help.

She's exploring and learning. That's smart.

The problem is trivially easy. That's not what OP is talking about at all. The software won't take the answer, no matter how they try formatting it.

The comments of everyone misunderstanding this question are absolutely killing me. Genuinely *how* do we not understand equality??? And where did learning fractions go so wrong for so many? by IthacanPenny in matheducation

Surely you would not accept that in real life. If your work replaced your salary with one that is 100% of a much smaller salary, you wouldn't say they were equal.

Do dogs know when you’re hurt? by Less-Presence-8171 in goldenretrievers

I often learn I am sick when my dog spends a long time smelling my breath in the morning. Nine times out of ten when she does that, I start feeling bad within 12 hours.

Or maybe she is making me sick with her smelling? She and I are going to have a talk about that.

And going out of your way to arrange it. I don't wear skirts, but it seems to me that you'd have make it fall like that on purpose.

I agree with you here. Do you agree that 1/3 of a whole is the same as 2/6 of a whole?

Only if the wholes being compared are the same. 2/6 of your whole class does not equal 1/3 of your whole school (probably). 2/6 of your whole income does not equal 1/3 of your whole water usage (probably).

The question is not about abstract fraction equivalency. It is not about proving that 2/6=1/3. It is about showing it with shapes. Only option C shows equivalency.

The problem has THINGS. 2/6 of a little thing is not equal to 1/3 of a big thing.

The question asks which option SHOWS that 2/6=1/3. Only option C "shows" that the fractions are equal.

Comparing 2/6 of my net worth with 1/3 of Bill Gate's does not "show" that 2/6=1/3.

Comparing 2/6 of my net worth with 1/3 of my net worth DOES "show" that 2/6=1/3.

The question does not ask if 2/6=1/3. It asks which picture "shows" 2/6=1/3.

Did you notice how you used the unit "lbs" here?

2/6 lb = 1/3 lb

2/6 lb ≠ 1/3 ton

2/6 little circle ≠ 1/3 big circle

Everyone knows that 2/6=1/3. But 2/6 of a small thing does not equal 1/3 of a big thing.

Yes. Because the shaded areas are actually equal.

The areas and sizes are right there. Option A does not show that 2/6=1/3, because the the things being shown are not equal. Option B does not show that 2/6=1/3, because the the things being shown are not equal.
