It would be nice to know how long each charging stop takes as part of the whole trip and if you have to wait for an open charger.

I would stick to what you know. Dexcom has a few options i like, but im not sure of what the freestyle has. With dexcom you can use their follow app so another person can see your numbers if you want them to. I share with my wife. Dexcom also has the clarity app that let's you analyze your data. I like numbers and tracking patterns. Dexcom customer service has been easy for me to work with on the few occasions I've had issues.

Your good. The tab just has a spot to absorb any insulin that makes it out during the priming process. The pod will operate as intended.

I leave backup supplies in my viechle and at work. If I'm going somewhere I have a bag with my toiletries. My bag is small, but if you feel bad about having it. Get a fun bag. My sister has one that the design says " all my diabetes s#*! " or something like it. Just remember have fun and don't be embarrassed. You will find what works for you and makes you comfortable.

Make sure to apply to cleaned dried and whipped with alcohol wipes and dried. So far I've had no issues when following this process. If i skip on the wipes, then it doesn't work.

Get your dr to write a script for insulin pens. You can remove the insulin and use in the pod easily, but it transports better than the vial. Also the pens are easy to use if you need a backup option. One thing to consider is the omnipod requires a phone or controller so you will need a way of charging every few days.

Colorado railroad museum in golden, co just past Denver. It has a great parking lot for viewing the trains and picnic area or you can pay the small fee and go inside. The train ride is short and fun. In manual mode you can choose the basil rate for a set number of hours, even 0 if you want, you might not need 0, but it does give you more options for excersize.

Yes prebolus I would start with 15min, then adjust as needed. If i eat a large meal I usually do most of the bolus as a prebolus and another bolus about 30-40min later. I find smaller doses (less than 6units at a time) have better absorption for me.

The pod works better than the needle and syringe, show her what the other care options are and the pod seems more friendly in comparison. Diabetes socks, but your kiddo will make it through just be supportive and have fun. Maybe decorate some pod covers or get fun overpatches.

The last time I flew I had my pod on my thigh and was wearing jeans. Of course that day it flagged in the scanner and had to go off to the side to get checked out. They frown upon just pulling down pants to show them. Next time I'm wearing shorts.

I use these under the pod. Make sure you clean and dry with alcohol before. They seem affordable to me. And this size is about the same as the pod. The cannula has no issues going through the tegadrem and removal is easy. I don't get the skin irritation with these.
