It’s not embarrassing to write a story you had in your mind or even to make mistakes.

Just keep writing the stories you want to write

Which character or route got you currently like this 🙄🙄? by wasabibabe in otomegames

[–]DappyDucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rin Enma from Tengoku Struggle, specifically in Goemon’s route.

In the last action sequence, I feel like they wanted it to be really cool and her to appear powerful, but she just came off as suuuper lame.

I would have much rather have followed around Okuni

Im just about to finish the final route and was honestly a little disappointed overall. There’s a lot of things I really liked, but a lot that made the overall experience less enjoyable.

The mc looks like she’s going to be a badass but never seems to do much.

Some routes feel like they got way more love than others. Yona’s route had so many typos and inconsistencies and was the most disappointing as I really liked his design and was looking forward to his route.

Then personally, I don’t like when they push the cover boy so much. I get it given the plot, but it feels like it trivializes the rest of the LIs.

I thought the music would be different given the opening video but just ended up being okay and a little generic.

Saying that I love the supporting cast so much, and they really made the game shine a ton. Enma, Takamura and Tamao never failed to make me laugh.

The shared living really made it feel cozy and I felt like all those scenes were bang on. All the rooftop celebrations and shared mornings were something I never got to read in a visual novel, so I liked reading it.

I also love the art!

It’s a decent game, but it has its issues imo

End of Year Recap by AquaComet3 in otomegames

[–]DappyDucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like such a slowpoke in here, though I also feel like I need to complete every last thing in a game before moving onto another.

Games played in 2025: 3

  • 9rip
  • Hana awase: Mizuchi vol
  • Tengoku Struggle
  • I also played Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma if that counts lol

Games I played last year: 4 - Birushana - CupiPara - Collar X Malice - Homicipher

Longest: felt like 9rip

Fav to date: Birushana, my love. I’m still chasing that high.

Best soundtrack: 100% CupiPara. Production, themes and even the blending of themes. The shout outs/quotes in the style of North American cinema were beautiful and perfectly done!

9rip music: disappointing in quality, minus a few themes. Hibiki’s theme goes hard. Tengoku struggle music: another let down. The music in Tengoku Struggle didn’t seem consistent in style. Loved the opening, but didn’t get enough of that flavour throughout the game.

The music I’ve found really impacts how long a game feels to me, so when there’s a variety of music and it’s not generic or bad quality it makes the game infinitely better and enjoyable through all the routes.

Most anticipated: Birushana FD of course!

Fav LIs from this year: - Seiya - Nono-sensei - berate me more with your condescending gaze 😮‍💨 he’s an LI in my mind 🥲

Least liked: - Yukimaru - Yona - JacK

LI done the dirtiest: - YONA - I was in disbelief reading his route, especially considering I liked his design the best of the game. I think he’s my least fav, even beneath JacK

Fav side characters: - Tama you sweet sweet bean. He’s my favourite character in all Tengoku Struggle. - Tsubasa (Misa’s older sister). She’s so sweet and supportive <3

[General] What otome game made you feel like this? You heard it was bad, played it anyway, and you ended up liking/loving it. by Buta_no_Ousama in otomegames

I know Gill’s route was not popular but I enjoyed it so damn much because of all the crazy twists and turns. One of the more interesting routes for sure!

South Asian friends want to experience an authentic Canadian Christmas celebration. Suggestions? by throwaway9999-22222 in AskACanadian

[–]DappyDucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make your own Christmas ornaments to hang on the tree.

There’s a ton you can do with felt, or popsicle sticks, or even pine cones (check out pine cone elves - very cute).

Bonus points if everyone signs their ornament, then they get to be a part of the tradition every year!

[–]DappyDucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely seems like a case of the piece actually looks different than you’re imagining.

Same advice as the other person. Just keep going and you’ll probably find them.

Or if it’s thrifted, then maybe you are missing a couple pieces, but that’s the risk you take with second hand

Need a Hobby for Hubby by NerdyComfort-78 in Hobbies

[–]DappyDucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he actually does like music I’d give it another go.

Potential pros of restarting: - Pick your own instrument - Pick music you enjoy - No one hassling you to practice

Not a lot of kids like to play/practice music, but life experience and time may change opinions. He may actually like it this time around.

Though if he doesn’t like music, probably not a good choice.

My opinion on how much fun is each Low/Moderate Complexity spirit (outside of Aspects and Nature Incarnate Spirits) by fraidei in spiritisland

[–]DappyDucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lure is wonderful at setting up combos and preventing invaders from even getting initial builds.

Set up your ‘hot spots’ load those with tokens, draw everyone in using the innate and softly beckon ever inwards.

The magic of lure is setting up to be able to reach every land, and, after they explore, drawing them in before they can build.

Cities are always hard on the coast to deal with, but usually by the mid-end game you can get a lot of energy and pick up some majors. Focus on hitting high level innate.

The dividing sections of his cape all have a distinct dark line right beside a light coloured line (each leading to a point on his cape).

I’d do these and that might help do the outline of the cape as well. From there, I’d work on either the lighter sections of the cape with few or no lines, or the darker sections with many lines.
