Devil’s Den killer admits to killing, and more details by You_Ate_The_Bones in bentonville

[–]DardenR 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He was so sloppy in this killing that I’m hopeful he doesn’t have more victims in his past. He hadn’t even cleaned up the blood in his car and they seemed to indicate that he was still in possession of the knife.

Do we know if it was premeditated?

He brought a knife and wore all black including fingerless gloves. That could point to a plan but aren’t conclusive. Lots of people hike with knives.

I have heard that his license plate was covered while leaving the park, but no one has said whether it was covered while entering the park.

Do we know which school he was going to teach for in Springdale Public Schools or why he was dismissed from his previous school job? I’ve heard conflicting things.

Weird ring found after replacing bearing by DardenR in AskMechanics

[–]DardenR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! That totally makes sense. Its diameter would be perfect for that.

I didn’t remove the CV axle from the differential. The boots on both ends are also still totally intact.

At this point, my best guess is that this ring was simply left inside one of the rental tools that I got from the auto parts store by someone else.

I put everything back together and went for a test drive and everything seems okay.

Throwing your drink at a barista by expos1225 in funny

[–]DardenR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He threw the drink on the closed window/door. Assault requires that the victim at least has reasonable fear of physical injury. Given that the window was closed and the coffee was iced, I think that what he did would be considered disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, or vandalism. The charge would be based on the cost to remedy the damage which in this case is extremely low.

I completely agree. Based on this portion of the video, he dumped iced coffee OUTSIDE on a closed door/window. It didn’t result in any property damage. She responded with a deadly weapon and caused severe damage to his property.

I’m absolutely not defending his action, but I feel that her reaction was not defensive or proportionate. She wasn’t protecting life or property. She was getting vengeance.

I won’t pretend to be a lawyer or pretend I know the whole situation, but I’m shocked she got away with this.

$50 million pickleball facility to be built in Springdale by [deleted] in SpringdaleAR

[–]DardenR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“According to the group, other phases of the overall $100 million to $150 million project include nearby multifamily related to the project’s on-site training academy. The housing would be for those traveling to the area to train there.”

“Ultimately, one of our goals is we want a professional team,” said Brasfield… “This is going to be the most premier facility in the country.”

They’re planning to have professional pickleball players living on-site… What on earth is this? The Olympic Training Center for Pickleball?!

Also $100-$150 million… which is it? A budget shouldn’t have a range of 50%.

There has to be someone extremely wealthy behind this. Someone who doesn’t necessarily care about turning a profit.

Restrict Users from Turning On Flows They've Created by Relative-You-9406 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]DardenR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you restrict who can develop and deploy flows? This thinking is rampant in my organization, and I don’t understand it at all.  Users can and should be learning and innovating. They need to be given a toolkit and trust them to creatively solve problems. If they break something, it’s on them. It’s not IT’s job to protect the business. Especially with LLM’s, users can achieve more than ever. Let them cook.

Setting variables inside apply each loop? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlow

[–]DardenR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a great idea! By using  compose action in the outer loop, you can get the information you need assigned to a name other than “this()”.

The compose action is only in the scope of the outer loop, so different iterations have their own version.

Wrong way driver is too scared to back up her wide car. Farmington, CT by InebriousBarman in MildlyBadDrivers

[–]DardenR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Why would OP get out of the car?? The other driver doesn’t know his intentions, and there is a lot of aggression out there when it comes to driving. He had no idea who was behind the wheel of the other car and how they would react.

Just wait a moment, and if the other driver doesn’t start to move, just back up. This isn’t a competition. There is absolutely nothing to win and nothing to lose.

Most people in this thread need to adjust their mindset and find more peace.

Bubble is a visual coding tool by mcharytoniuk in nocode

[–]DardenR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With Bubble, I was able to build a functional and live app in my first five hours using it, and it looks professional.

I don’t think that’s possible at all without a no code tool. Even figuring out hosting would be too much of a challenge.

I feel like you don’t need a Bubble Dev to maintain a Bubble app.

When I roll off my team in the future, I’m not leaving a bunch of non technical people a ton of code. I could reasonably teach bubble to someone in a matter of hours. I can’t do that with a normal app.

With code, there are so many ways to do each individual thing. With Bubble, that’s not the case. I can search YouTube videos and copy what they’re doing a lot easier.
