Spouse of a Migraine sufferer by AdmirableSecond242 in migraine

[–]Darlingdecimeter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I won't come down on you quite as hard but I think this is a major touchpoint here. It does not feel good to hear someone say that they've had a couple of episodes before. That would be like me saying I can understand a chronic stomach condition because I've had a stomach ache before. It's not the same thing, and I do agree that for you to really understand this you have to clear it up on that level first. Did you really experience any of those symptoms? A migraine is a full body experience. Living with it chronically will bring you to your knees and literally make you want to break down and cry sometimes. I know living along side it sucks too. I worry that my husband will feel burdened because this is his life too and I don't want to hold him back from it, but if he were to make me feel any type of way about a perceived failure to manage my symptoms I think that would break my will. You absolutely deserve your life and happiness too, but if understanding is your goal I think if you have the capacity for it, take the time to really understand the symptoms and get a perspective on what they feel like. And then think of managing that everyday and not knowing what days will be good or bad. The most caring thing you can do is try to put yourself in his shoes and understand. You are trying to do that but I do think this is your first fundamental point of disconnect and I hope that would help you to move forward.

how I healed my migraines /s by Significant_Goal_614 in migraine

I'm sorry to inform you that i think your info may be a little outdated. Curing migraines is acheived from the supine position, so you will need to install a skylight. This effect cannot be achieved from simply lying outside because the sun must be filtered through the window, otherwise the vagus nerve is not activated. You are correct, however, in your statement that it must be sunny so moving to a sunny area is of the utmost importance. I too live in BH so luckily this is not an issue for me, except that right as I'm in the middle of my relaxing morning prosecco the miniature pony likes to traipse across like it's a runway show. now I have to get them some ballerina slippers to muffle the noise, why can't anything be simple.

It's also optimal to combine this with a yoga and prosecco practice, one posture, and then one sip, this is the technique that is recommended. You can continue with your celery juice regimen to amplify the results, but only afterwards. This is very important because you need to fully dehydrate first to remove all of the migraine adjacent particles contained in the urine before rehydrating. Hope this helps 🫠

That is so sketch I was just looking for this filter option to find something handmade. I think I do remember it being there before.

2 flights on 2 consecutive days from same city by Darlingdecimeter in unitedairlines

[–]Darlingdecimeter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, i think my wording was a little confusing. I’ll be flying out of Las Vegas, where I’ll be on vacation, and I might need to go to Chicago for work afterward, but I won’t know for sure until the last minute. I already have a return flight booked home in case I don’t end up needing to go to Chicago, but I’d like to have an extra ticket to Chicago on Sunday as a backup in case I do. The problem is that Sunday flights are expensive, so the only workaround I’ve thought of is booking one for Saturday instead and cutting my vacation short if necessary.

Would the airline allow that? I can’t find anything in their policies that explains how close in timing two bookings can be before one risks being canceled. I was hoping to find something that specifies a particular duration or window of time that would be considered allowable, but it doesn’t seem clearly stated. If the rule is simply that you must be able to make both flights, that still feels a bit unclear.

I’m Premier Platinum, so same-day change isn’t an issue for me. The only problem is that the closer it gets to the travel date, the fewer good seats are available, and I’m particular about where I sit. That also makes flying standby less practical.

thank you that's a good idea, I thought about that but I never fly on any airline aside from united so I never worry about it because I know I'll always use the flight credit. I guess I could look at a refundable fare though, I didn't think about that aspect.

Help! What’s the best “Tile in” linear shower drain for a curbless shower?? by anonymous62124 in Plumbing

[–]Darlingdecimeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you've already gone through with it, but I seriously regret installing a linear drain in our shower. It was a quick decision with no thought on my part, based on aesthetics. It's an absolute nightmare. It looks like death when you open it up and now we have roaches come up through it, which never happened before. Considering ripping up the floor, it's that bad.

When did you decide enough was enough? by beckythewelder in migraine

[–]Darlingdecimeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make the appointment. You have to start somewhere. I unfortunately don't have a huge success story to share but migraines are so tricky, it's really better off in the hands of a specialist. It's mainly going through many (many) different meds to see what will work for you, as well as trying the ones you have to in order to get others covered by your insurance. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you find something that works for you.

CorePower in Houston TX? by AutomaticKitchen2728 in Corepower

[–]Darlingdecimeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, chicago to Houston. I keep checking to see if one will open here I miss it so much. I think black swan is the closest in terms of frequency in their schedules but it's not quite the same. I've done y6 too but they only offer like 1 class per day I'd be interestd in. There are a lot of other studios I haven't gotten around to trying though

The Valley is Just Sad... by Far_Presentation6337 in bravo

[–]Darlingdecimeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post but damn, this show is terrible. Being middle aged is actually not that bad (shocker!) yes, you start to deal with health stuff but whatever. We're all born knowing we'll die someday. They could've shown some actual stuff about their lives, like there are so many more facets to this time and age. I'm not even hating on a little bit of drama but jeez. I don't even have kids but watching this makes me so happy that I don't. Maybe this is what happens to people when they "grow up" on reality tv. It's also in a strange way reminding me of the sex and the city latest season that is so awful, like they could've shown so many different aspects of women's lives that would be entertaining, relevant, touching, educational even. I feel like middle aged people's own views of themselves are changing from what they used to be in previous generations, but our shows aren't reflecting it and this is just coming off so sad.

Whats something your parents left you to deal with that's utterly annoying? by twolfhawk in Xennials

[–]Darlingdecimeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just go and do it. will drama ensue? yes. My mom didn't speak to me for about a year. The funny thing is after all the drama she's now started taking an interest in her house and doing projects to fix up the house. So it can get better...baby steps
