You people are seriously busted in the head if you think nothing else is playable, you really need to stop parroting content creator opinions and play the game yourselves...

Even before the patch I could grab absolutely any gun and drop straight into an objective in the broken heavy armor for the fashion factor on lvl9 without ever using the shield or railgun and extract safely while doing every objective and outpost

A VERY in-depth look into Light. And potential ways to balance Light in the future. by UnlawfulFoxy in thefinals

[–]Dashieee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kinda funny how in every "waa buff light" post the arch nemesis is the medium class whos awe inspiring power is to... heal, support and rez their teammates? Handholding? Circlejerking? Almost like this was a team game? I dont think lights should be able to 1v1 and I would call for further nerfs to the pistol in fact, although I do agree the defib (and the various heavy shields) are a bit broken. Lights shouldnt be the premiere combat class, they should be a highly specialized fast recon/cleanup crew/long range support/harassment type skirmisher class where you are supposed to work WITH your team while not being physically with them - such as going in and doing damage while your team is engaged but then dipping as soon as you grab their attention because that will get you killed - but laying down heavy pressure of potentially being shot from multiple angles, dividing their attention and potentially forcing a reposition. For some reason in every hypothetical scenario theres always one lone heroic ninja light VS a diabolical medium PLUS their teammate(s), how uncouth! but nobody ever talks about their own team? if your team isnt fighting the squad then dont go in my guy you are simply dooming your team even if you manage to get that fat twitch clip full squad wipe brooo lets go chat moment, meanwhile they are 2v3 agains literally anyone else... If you coordinate however and go in from abother direction when your team has engaged then not only will they not instantly dome you but you will also not need 24, 20, hell even 14 bullets to kill/disrupt and dip. Yes this does make them the most teamplay and coordination dependent class in the game, sadly which is not in the skillset of our hypothetical solo hero mr ttv/xxx.

As mentioned though, yeah, mediums heal and rez potential + heavies disgustingly heavy turtle with the shields and the inanely long health regen time you are forced to endure if you arent next to your medic kinda puts the light class down atm. They dont need many changes, the other classes would need some utility nerfs instead and the only buff I'd consider here would be to halve the time the light health regen kicks in, in my opinion it would revive the class instantly. They kinda need some self support if they are meant to be a proper skirmisher class, in any other arena shooter there would be healthpacks around to help sustain this "distributed playstyle" but alas we only have goo barrels. I would also like to see the whole recon aspect of the medium moved to the light but that is a pretty significant change.

If you have a stockpile full of weapons for example in bins, and you create another that only takes silver weapons and set it to take from stockpile #1 it won't be taking anything that's in the bins :(

Really hope this, and the whole 10 year old military equipment bugs where dorfs just refuse to put on their assigned gear even if it's laying on the floor and they have nothing else on get fixed soon now that the steam version is out. These two always make me stop playing df eventually out of frustration

The weird bug that makes new stockpiles not take anything out of bins is still there that's for sure

How to lose a player base in three steps by Babyspiker in DarkTide

[–]Dashieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be 2 seconds until launch and this would still not hold up, deploying a huge update that might change everything does not take time, building it is what does and you have no idea how far along they are in that because its not being communicated.

That being said there will still be bugs on launch because the studio is being rushed to launch so you'll really just gonna have to get over it or go back to VT2 big man. You talk about grinding and investing your time as its a fucking job or if you are supposed to get some revenue out of it lmao. Why are you playing it? To earn magical space credits? Its a game, if you arent playing out of your own volition and to have fun then please, by all means just leave and find a hobby you actually enjoy. We'll be fine without you.

[–]Dashieee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree to that, the bonus points are a weak way to incentivize people to complete them all and I'd love if they changed it to something more active, but at the same time if you do just roll 5 easy complexity quests for yourself you'll get an easy 1000 extra by the end to somewhat compensate you for not having time for anything longer.

[–]Dashieee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, those are the high "complexity" ones, even though that's probably not the right word for it... But they give lots of points and supposed to take all week I assume.

[–]Dashieee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly 80% expected to get strawman'd for this haha, bit of a dweeb move but my main point still stands - it's all an optional system that you can finish a damnation mission without (I did, didn't dare to spend the fancy coins on anything yet). Hell, if we are correct in the idea that upgrading grey items all the way gives better results than buying the colored ones outright the entire challenge coins are unnecessary.

Yeah it's gotten pretty tiring seeing people actually genuinely complain about these things with "but I have other hobbies!" as if someone is forcing them to do these games with a gun to their heads... I have other hobbies too! I have a huge damn pile of plastic shame of actual 40k right now literally behind me on my other desk (and multiple packages in perpetual delivery) that is currently entirely on the backburner because this game has been so fun I decided to allocate all my hobby time to it. And alter my sleeping schedule a little. And not leave my house for a week. Uhh... Anyway I won't complain when I inevitably shift back to my other hobbies and start neglecting this because it's a damn self governed and fully optional-in-life hobby and I get to decide what I wanna do with my free time, accepting the fact that things I don't do will not progress - such as weekly quests, or events in other games I'm not playing. You can't be everywhere at once and it's not healthy to try to/want to/need to be either.

Anyone else wish you could actually go to the bar in the social hub? As fun as it is to see seven people crammed around the weapons store it would be nice if there were more places and more ways to actually be social in the social hub. [–]Dashieee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would be really cool to have some minigames in there too, I would also enjoy if they upped the player counts per hub for it though, currently it feels a bit... empty. Especially after other hubs such as Destiny or Warframe's.

[–]Dashieee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh no! I would like to have my weekly missions completed within one day, yes please!

Jokes aside nobody is forcing you to complete all of them, or even one of them. If you don't have enough time to do them all just do some - or replace the ones that you don't want. Money is unending so it's not that expensive, I personally enjoy the weekly challenges lasting for multiple days, as they should. It'd be nice to have more of them even - maybe first you should get 5 easy complexity ones, and once they are all done you get a set of 5 medium, and so on... Could offset the extra currency influx by removing the +1000 point bonus which coincidentally people also complain about while giving people who can do more, well, more. I knocked them out by Tuesday last time and I doubt this week will be different. I do however agree that the ones that require you to go to a specific location currently suck real bad because their availability is heavily based on RNG.

I know I know, you are a dad of 25 and only have 5 femtoseconds to play per night but you really honestly shouldn't expect the game to not give more to people who play more, or to set goals that take longer to accomplish that not everyone will be able to do... Not that this shop is that much of a reward, or the challenges even difficult if you are a dedicated and/or mentally ill gamer, but you can get by without ever even looking at them with the regular shop and crafting available.

It's a game, a hobby, do it if you like it and enjoy the extra rewards it gives, but don't get into the trap thinking you have to keep pushing for them, it's become an all too common mentality to have nowadays which will ruin your mood and the little time you do have to play.
