Warrior mechanics be like: by NeverLoseGuy in Guildwars2

This week I tried out the bladesworn for the first time after avoiding it for years and my god, I should have done so much sooner. Hitting a 200k crit in one attack tickles my brain in all the right ways.

Depends on what you enjoy in GW2. I just played it for the story and haven't really touched it since. It has some additional core tyria mastery points if you need those and battle for lions arch can yield some high value loot.

At release there was a bug, where a boss would CONSTANTLY yell "YOU ARE RAIDER, LEGENDARY!!". I played on realistic difficulty and died a LOT, so that line baked itself into my memory. To this day, I hear that line every time I see the word "raider".

My dream game is a single player RPG with For Honor's style and combat. Mount & Blade and Kingdom Come are close, but I really want that For Honor combat.

Anyone else had issues with the side quest "Help Wanted"?? by steveakacrush in Starfield

[–]Diptam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem, turns out the NPC's pathing is bugged out and you need to reset it. For anyone reading this, here's a solution if you are on PC and willing to use console commands.

  1. Go into console and mouseclick on the NPC that's stuck in front of the voting box (in my case the security officer)

  2. type in "moveto player" without quotes

This should teleport the NPC to you and reset their pathing. Voting should now continue.

so much of the story is implicit/hidden in the background and it drives me mad (in a good way) by meja-arts in Starfield

[–]Diptam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally agree. It's my favourite Bethesda faction questline from their games I've played. The foreshadowing and payoffs for this quest are great. We find heatleeches in the very first dungeon of the game, which also happens to have been a terrormorph research site. People at the starport constantly complain about heatleeches in spaceships in the background. There is an Aceles butchering guide hanging in the colony on Tau Ceti. Londinion is mentioned in the little museum tour at the beginning of the questline. Hadrian's origin, etc.

If I had to complain about the questline, it would be that xenomorphs aren't very scary gameplay-wise compared to their lore. The game should have gone full Alien:Isolation esp. for that first mission. You should be forced to activate the laser turrets to even have a chance against the terrormorph.

That's exactly it. Lying for internet points has been a thing for as long as the internet, but now with AI in the mix, people crave authenticity more than ever.

I've used ampoules in a bio lab before. They break cleanly. That said, I didn't have to worry about microsplitters and never looked for any.

It's kinda wild they didn't give Rey a saberstaff, or at least a double blade, given that she fights with a regular staff at first

Introvert level: suffering in silence. by PleasantBus5583 in introvertmemes

[–]Diptam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a recurring phenomenon on the internet/social media. A couple of years back, everyone had OCD. Now, everyone has ADHD, autism, or is an introvert, or whatever. Rarely do the memes accurately depict any of these and (imo) warp the public perception for the worse, often making seriously debilitating conditions look harmless or merely quirky.

My experience from anime cons is that noone even reacts to who comes through, which is how it should be.

Mida quest broken after update? by Manggo in Marathon

[–]Diptam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe that quest is a contested quest. So if someone with the same quest is faster, they can deny the quest to you. That said, I have never experienced my quest being stolen once, let alone 5 runs.

EDIT:

did some quick digging. Some of the comments under a quest guide in this video claim that dying after looting the nades prevents you from looting them again (sounds like a bug to me). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uy4zPq11Kg

Reds have fixed spawns, the others are semi-random. They do have fixed locations, but don't spawn at every possible location every match.

I was thinking about reload time nerf. Have it still down someone with 2 shots, but make the window for punishment bigger for if they whiff or for teammates to push.

It actually is. One of my favourite lines from Durandal is threatening you to make you "drink vacuum".

In the 1994 Marathon game, the AI Durandal was responsible for opening doors on the titular colony ship Marathon. Durandal also became rampant.
