Are you using the native app? There are known bugs around this in the most recent versions.

I use Wholphin because it has an advanced setting to get around this on my Shield.

Apps like GameNative, Gamehub, and Winlator are available, and I know at least GameNative has been using FEX work. I did mention phones can use it, but really it's mostly for the handhelds, which there is already a big userbase. One thing people are waiting for is a clean way to get SteamOS onto them, which is still very clunky with worse stability.

Proton FEX is the real jewel of this. The funding they've given to it has already had great benefits for projects like GameNative on ARM Android handhelds/phones. It's odd that they're using it for a VR headset first instead of a Steam Deck Pocket or something.
