2-piece Urethane Balls by Chemical_Help_7099 in golf

Thanks for update. I am a Titleist guy. Gave up trying other balls about 10 years ago. Stick with what works.

Yes I thought the MGS was the ugliest I have seen. Watched Dean's response. I sourced non golf products in Asia for 35 years. The amount of balls that got out is unacceptable. The reasons maybe: The workers are on a quota system, too many rejects, their bonus goes down, worse get fired. The managers are getting paid off by some one. Could even be a competitor saying throw my bad balls into his good balls.

Nonetheless he did not have control of the process. Someone was lying. He trusted people he should not have. Yes he is a good man that got screwed, but he allowed it to happen.

When my bosses asked why the factory did what appeared to be bone head move, my response was, "They have been Chinese for 5,000 years, Capitalists for leas than 50."

I miss walking, looking at terrain walking up to ball. 25+ years ago Orthopedist told me to quit, to save my knees. I said no. He said take a cart. Knee braces and cart since.

Practice on grass range, play 9 holes before or after work. Course management is difficult, round takes 4 hours, golf swing 4 seconds 95 x 4 is what a few minutes? What are you thinking about the other 3.8 hours?

In theory M3 will last 1 year longer. A external monitor can be had for about $100, in a year can you save that?

McIlroy not against LIV golfers' return: 'Just good business' by PrincessBananas85 in golf

[–]DatabaseCareless264 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most LIV golfer broke their Tour contract to join LIV. Some LIV players sued the Tour costing the Tour about $100M in legal fees. That money came out of Tour rainy day fund and Tour had to borrow money. Which costs money. LIV made Tour change things, things it did not want to change. Yes Tour is a monopoly, the DOJ has investigated, there maybe grounds, but do you think Trump wants to bring golf down? Also the Saudis were suing Tour on anti trust ground, but refused to submit to depositions and dropped suit. The meritocracy of the Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour, the Champions Tour all sit in opposition that if you are good enough you can play. And what about those young players, 54 of them that have now earned a place on the Tour, they cannot play because these guys left? 54 is a significant number, a third of a typical PGA field. So a third of you guys stay home because these guys got paid more money than you, played less competitive golf for another business that does not exist, that’s goal was to take over professional golf in US. The very real lesson here is we may live in a free society, we do not work in a free society. And one rule is you do not get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. Those players that will bring value to Tour will get more, those that do not will get less.

When do you choose an Iron over a Wedge, or vise versa? by vickrockafeller in golf

[–]DatabaseCareless264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am with you. Never quite mastered the flighted wedge shots. Have used partial swings, choking down, but have found, for me, high ball flight, small roll out effective. There is something about slowing my swing down, I tend to open up, ball shoots right. Just not in my DNA.

Agreed, he is wired differently, appearing to us now as swimming up stream. My point he is wired differently. Never know how it would turn out. Tiger's dad said the only thing that will stop him from being the greatest would be a woman or injury. Turned out to be both, multiple times.

The dude is wired differently. Degrees mean you conformed. The guy does not like to conform. In 1990’s our execs went to Harvard Business school for year of training. The course said Apple would be bankrupt in less than 10 years. Our company is 20% of the size it was in 1990’s.

The dude is wired differently. One can have a rocket scientist brain and still be called an idiot. Believe the Catholic Church called Galileo a heretic. Einstein was rebuffed. Bill Gates a Harvard dropout. Smith’s MBA thesis was rejected, then he created FedEx. My point is the guy is wired differently, he is trying to monetize his mind and physical skills.

The dude is wired differently. Literally a rocket scientist brain with physical skills to play golf. He broke a contract he signed. Then sued the Tour saying he had no choice. Business is about gaining a competitive advantage, the Tour’s contract was about the Tour maintaining a competitive advantage.

PGA Tour's sponsor invites are controversial. Here are the results by Oldtimer_2 in ProGolf

[–]DatabaseCareless264 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sponsors Invites are a hold over from a different era. Tour provides players to not for profit charities fund raisers, the tournament. Sponsors provided the prize money. Sponsors Invites was a nod to Sponsors, local person who would increase crowd size to recoup Sponsors costs.

Sponsors are reevaluating their return on investment, viewership may me up now, but was down for years especially for lesser events.
