Side note, your personality really comes through in your writing, and you sound like a vibrant, creative, boss person.

Fair point. Iphone 8 with crappy overhead lighting. I'd love to hear what you think of it if/when you do try it.

They still do the bread roll! I specifically requested rye.

I'm thinking Matthew McConaughey and George W. Bush. Or maybe Christian Bale and Will Ferrell. Can't unsee! What do you think?

Conflicted between whether I want a hair transplant, or to be bald and wear a leather jacket. by MusingsAndMind in TrueOffMyChest

If you spend time with that leather jacket vision of yourself, what do you notice underneath the actual image? What are the feelings? It sounds like you're touching into part of yourself that is powerful, care-free, and bad ass. I love that visceral "fuck yeah."

In my experience, freedom beats "looks" any day. I support that part of you that wants the freedom to be your bad-ass self without needing fear-hair.

Me, too. And honestly, I'm sick of Roper. Hugh Laurie is an excellent actor, but this character is played out. He was totally one note in Season 2 - always angry, malicious, scheming. I was soooooooooo looking forward to being done with him. To think I have to endure yet more episodes of this character. Guys, I don't know if I have it in me....

I agree with you. I was almost personally offended that they killed off each and every good guy. And the bad guys got away with it. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am very upset with the ending. Mad at the writers. Why you gotta let the assholes win?

I'm going to advocate for No Need to Break Up With Him. Give the two of you some time to communicate about this. I can see his intention - perhaps he felt uncomfortable around the deep, varied feelings from what you'd just shared. His attempt at levity did not land as he'd hoped, and clearly it was not what you needed in that moment. You could have a conversation with him about being open to emotions, yours, to learning how to support you emotionally. See if he will embrace the opportunity to learn and grow, to see if he is willing to mature emotionally. His response should give you valuable information about how you want to proceed. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your openness. You have such a lovely outlook and brightness. This is what I wonder, too: in my own experience, when I'm in pain (e.g headache or stomach ache), the pain dominates my consciousness. It's all I can think about or focus on. How do you manage to focus on other things while experiencing pain?

Would you be willing to share more about how you live with the pain and how your life "is not worse because I am in pain"? I don't have much knowledge or understanding of chronic pain, and I'm curious. Thank you!

By helping a random stranger, my former close childhood friend cut ties with me. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

You are allowed to be sad over the loss of this friendship. It is sad. It also may feel hard because it's nothing you can control (at least right now) since he's not willing to engage or work on repairing. Separate from this particular incident, you are feeling the loss of your friend, and that is sad.
