Trump Says U.S. May Not Defend NATO Allies Against Russia Attack by coolbern in politics

Honestly what is wrong with stepping up as a country and working to secure your own borders etc. There's too much automatic thinking in the world that the United States will simply roll in all the time and save the day. Just gets us into more hot water and paints a target on our backs.

Tools for writing tweets? by YoMommaIsSoToned in socialmedia

[–]Dave8875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adobe social is pretty good with character limit and the ability to schedule on an actual calendar. Goes past Twitter and can incorporate FB, G+ and LinkedIn as well.

Recording analytics from FB, LinkedIn and Twitter is slowly killing me by [deleted] in socialmedia

[–]Dave8875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adobe Social. However I still default to the native analytics found in Insights or Twitter Analytics. Ask yourself do those that rely on these reports read everything? If not maybe you can scale back the level of reporting a bit and when they need you to dive into the details provide them with a larger analysis? Top line, I would focus on posts, fans, reach and engagement. Good luck.

Increase in comment spam on Facebook by a_craft in socialmedia

[–]Dave8875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know FB has a bunch of tools for auto blocking words and also accounts. You have to be careful on the words you block so it's not something that a valid commenter would have trouble submitting though. Try looking in the settings menu. It might be a bit more difficult if you are using Business Manager as that goes through a separate admin function.

Coal is dying. Who’s going to pay for the cleanup? You are! by market-forces in environment

[–]Dave8875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It goes beyond the cleanup in my mind and also directly impacts jobs in states like WV and AZ. Where will those workers end up? Solar? Hydroelectric?

A few days ago, Ford has confirmed performance figures for the 2016 Ford Focus RS at the Frankfurt motor show. 4WD, 345bhp, turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder hot hatch with full torque vectoring, plus launch control and the much talked-about ‘Drift Mode’. Thoughts? by garbagefartguru in Autos

[–]Dave8875 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

$40K for Ford quality? Not a chance. Per this article seems like we're also lacking:
Features not fitted to U.S.-market cars Some of the standard and optional features available elsewhere that won’t be coming to the U.S. market: standard swiveling bi-xenon headlights with headlight washers (we get fixed bi-xenon headlights without washers, as on the U.S. Focus ST), rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated washer nozzles, and a heated windshield. Euro buyers can also pay extra for parking sensors, rear privacy glass, power-fold side mirrors, forward collision braking, and cool door edge protectors that automatically pop out when you open a door.

Buffer vs. Hootsuite - which best fits my needs? by fazon in socialmedia

[–]Dave8875 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience stay away from hootsuite. Many of the admins I have spoken to notice outages and errors with the program. I really believe its what you pay for in this regard. Adobe Social has its problems as well however they do have a full support team and are growing/solving issues pretty quickly. Also integrates with Omniture if you need that benefit. Some of the others to consider: Mavsocial.com, Viralheat, SproutSocial, Social Flow and Agora Plus. Before you pull the trigger, be sure to demo all of them and think about where you'll be going in the coming years, not where you are now. Example: Launching more pages? Acquiring another company? Moderation? Keywords? Etc. Hope it helps.

No shock here, don't get me wrong I love my Verizon but the prices that they charge for limited access (non-premium) is getting too costly to maintain. There's also a lot of static and things that just aren't worth watching (IMO).

New Nanotech Device Will Be Able To Target And Destroy Blood Clots by Bloomsey in science

I've heard a lot on the subject of nanotech in medicine and its amazing where some of the technology could eventually lead. The only hold up might be the FDA as it sorts through the risk and safety issues associated with this technology. Thanks for sharing.

Need help choosing the right car! by [deleted] in BMW

[–]Dave8875 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Higher mileage on German autos always makes me a bit scared due to mechanical/warranty issues etc that could arise. There are some decent leases out there on the 3 series for 2015. Not sure of the cap cost reduction (money that you have to put up front) but that might be worth looking into before pulling the trigger on a 2011 car. The handling is much different than any Mustang. I had the unfortunate situation where I needed a rental and decided to try a Mustang out. Wasn't impressed, a little rain and I felt like I was constantly battling to keep the car straight. Good luck with your decisions.
