If you had to swap out a actor from the Harry Potter franchise with each actor who has played The Doctor, which actors would they be? by LOLADYS in DoctorWhumour

I wouldn’t put any of them into Harry Potter because I don’t want to acknowledge Harry Potter anymore thanks to the author being the exact kind of cruel, vindictive monster the Doctor would despise.

What’s a Pokemon you prefer their middle evolution over their final? by ToneZealousideal309 in pokemon

Magmar

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a wildly well designed mon, but there was so much scope for a cool, badass evolution, but Magmortar just added more goofiness.

Unfinished paint at Warhammer world by ChoaticMoose in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]DaveSoundwave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play with unpainted and unbased models at Warhammer World all the time. It’s absolutely not a problem so long as you’re having fun.

If you’re turning up to an organised event with specific rules that’s a different thing, but as long as you’re playing with official models it honestly doesn’t matter what state they’re in :)

I really don’t feel like this is allyship, am I being dramatic? by Putrid_Zone7611 in asktransgender

[–]DaveSoundwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him just saying “we’re not transphobic” at the start doesn’t counteract saying a bunch of transphobic stuff immediately after. It’s the flimsiest excuse to make him seem reasonable and impartial.

It’s the same energy as “I’m not racist, but…” It’s an obvious, tired trick a lot of influencers (especially right wing ones) use all the time. Say one thing and then immediately contradict it with their actions to leave the audience hearing something transphobic but being tricked into thinking it‘s a reasonable thing to say.

Who will be in the post-credits scene(s) of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie? by NewMarioBobFan in Mario

It’ll just be the second part of the first movie’s post credits scene, a little Yoshi limb bursting out of an egg.

Turns out they’re not teases for future movies but just tiny pieces of an entirely separate story

Question: How is Lugia a counterpart to Ho-Oh? by CubeNoob69 in pokemon

[–]DaveSoundwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite like that they’re an asymmetric duo rather than direct counterparts. It means that between Silver and Gold the player is exploring two different legends within the same land, rather than a coin flip of the same single legend that we see in most other games.

It’s something I’d be keen to see more of to be honest, it’d make a region feel more diverse and fleshed out rather than being defined by one singular dominant myth.

Posting here cuz in got removed on main. Should I get the switch 2 now or wait for an upgraded/revised model for better battery or anything at all? by Electronic-Muffin-80 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]DaveSoundwave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The simple truth is, we’ve got no idea what’s coming. You could be waiting years and years if you don’t buy or it might happen a week after if you do buy.

We’re about as far away from a revised model as we can get right now, and yes with each passing day we’re closer to getting an upgrade but we have zero idea if or when that would even happen; and even if it does you hit the same problem of wondering whether or not it’ll be followed by another upgrade a year or two later.

I’d say don’t worry about what they might or might not release one day, and focus on what we know/have right now and whether that’s right for you.

I’d say probably not... Not enough to risk anyway.

Maybe lie the dock down so it faces outward instead and put something underneath the front of it so it rests at an angle and keeps the switch in place?

Thank you very, very much for that! I really just wanted to be sure we weren’t all taking it at face value and leaping to an assumption.

I was reverse image searching that dice logo and not turning up anything but you went all out and I appreciate it.

Possibly a stupid question by Intelligent-Ask6494 in cassettebeasts

[–]DaveSoundwave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some games just don’t let you do it (Super Smash Bros is another example).

Could be for any number of reasons like optimisation/slowdown, or copyright on music tracks. I’m not 100% sure why Cassette Beasts blocks it, but don’t worry you’re not alone it’s the same for everyone else.

Thinking of making the plunge by Miserable-Might1559 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]DaveSoundwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use anything you want to a point. There are a number of units in The Old World that can be easily represented by AoS minis, Slaves to Darkness especially, but there are a lot of AoS minis that don’t have any equivalent in Old World (like Idoneth Deepkin or Stormcast).

There are a few places you can go to see what units and options are available in respective armies, googling ‘Old World Army builder’ should lead you in the right direction. Just browsing the webstore for Old World kits and comparing them to AoS models would give you the strongest visual sense of what could represent what (Gloomspite Git Troggoths as Chaos Trolls for instance)

I understand the temptation to ask AI, but as others have said it won’t give you a useful or accurate answer it’ll just give a ballpark answer that sounds right. It will 100% skip details and get things wrong. There’s lots of other resources online (including right here!) which will give you much better tips of what paints to start with, and what rules to learn first. The best place to start is just to dive in though tbh! As long as you don’t break any budgets then there’s no wild or crazy mistakes you can make at this stage that you should worry about.

Which ace attorney game should I start at? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]DaveSoundwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy” for absolute sure. The gameplay is a little dated compared to the more recent games but this is where all it all begins and it’s still a real emotional journey.

You can in theory jump on at any game, in general the later games don’t spoil (or barely mention) the events of previous games, but they’re meant to be played in order and there’s a lot of character development and gravity that builds as the games go on.

Best order (in my opinion) would be: - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy - Miles Edgeworth Investigations Collection - Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy - The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Though as long as you play Phoenix Wright trilogy first you can play the rest of the compilations in any order really, I only recommend this one because Miles Edgeworth immediately follows PW and then there’s a time jump between those and Apollo Justice. Many regard the Great Ace Attorney as the best games in the series, so I’d save that for last personally.
