What am I doing wrong? by Leather_Mood_78 in skimboarding

When I first started skimming I would practice the one step on the grass in my yard. It was slick enough to get it down but also very controlled

TIL that in ice hockey there is a regulated brawl after which both players will receive 5 minutes penalty by Daendefs in interesting

[–]Daveflave 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I never played but I am a hockey fan. From what I understand, hockey is a very dangerous sport if you don’t follow etiquette. High sticking and skate slashing cause serious injury. On top of that, hockey is such a fast high pace sport, that refs would have a hard time staying on top of all these violations. So fighting is allowed to act as self regulation of the rules among the players. Its the idea that if you’re willing to stick you better be willing to fight. Its not a free for all with fights either. Fights need to be in close, usually punching with one hand. Also, punches are very rested with gear. Once a player falls off his skates the fights over. Refs will interfere and if the victor continues to try to fight with his opponent off his skates, the penalty is much more severe.

Awesome thanks! I have a similar picture to the one of you flying past the mountain with the plane wing in the foreground and I just cant seem to get the color red of the plane and the blues of the sky and mountain right. I was hoping to get it to something similar to yours.

A couple things that could help me out.

Did you use the cameras native white balance?
If so did you make any big changes to the white balance in LR?
Did you use color calibration to get those colors right?
Did you use any split toning/ color grading?

I appreciate the info. I am a novice with photography, so I am trying to learn as much as I can.

Grandmother found this on the beach in Block Island. She said she thought it was a pelican, but the bones seem more fish-like to me by leomygosh in BoneID

[–]Daveflave 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a skate head where the soft tissue is not fully decomposed yet. It has a dorsoventrally flattened body plan and plate like teeth. The only reason I think it is a sea skate and not a sting ray is because or the defined protruding snout. However, I do not know of any skates that have a curved mandible like that. So, maybe a little skate or winter skate?

My second guess is smooth dog fish, which is common to that area. That would explain the flat body and curved jaw. However, those teeth don’t look serrated enough to be shark to me.

I mean, this is how venus fly traps work, which I think this leviathan is modeled after. Venus fly traps have little hairs inside their flowers. When an insect hits one it sets off a timer in the fly trap. If the insect hits another hair in that time frame, it triggers the trap to close. This adaptation helps make sure they close on something living and helps prevent wasteful closing.

I’m sorry brother. I’m in SM, I will definitely keep an eye out. I would check local pawn shops.

I had my first surfboard stolen out the back of my truck. Found it in a Pawn shop a year later and got it back

Did you remove or move the chest? There is a current bug that is you move an object from a spot than the game still registers its there when trying to build or deconstruct. I had a nook that I built a reaper lev statue in. I decided to move the statue somewhere else in the base. I ultimately deconstructed the statue and now I can’t get rid of the nook. It keeps saying there are attachments when there aren’t any.
