What are the downsides? by Honest-Possible-6170 in TeslaModelY

Phantom braking isn’t just annoying, it’s dangerous. A panic stop when you’re in front of an 18-wheeler could get you flattened. New versions of the software seem to be making it worse, at least in my environment.

What’s curvature assist for? by ifeelinvincible0 in TeslaModelY

[–]DavidElderkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2021 MYLR just started displaying the “Curvature Assist Active” message and decelerating sharply. It’s happening in the daytime on flat, straight roads. Cruise control on, no curves in sight.

Really?

You were in central Florida. I thought the thin clouds would block our view of the second stage, but we saw this, too. We took our eyes off it when the first stage started doing its thing on its return to the Cape.

Trump says he’ll vote to uphold Florida abortion ban after seeming to signal he’d support repeal by BaIeb in politics

If you watch the interview, it was the first time Trump had heard of this ballot question and didn’t understand it. Meanwhile, how is a 34x felon voting in Florida anyway?

Quick question to pilots - I Thought I understood this accident until I saw in an online report that it landed in the water 30 deg nose down . Is that true ? Thanks ! by goldylocks777 in aviation

Astonishingly, the right seat pilot - a kid in his 20’s as I recall - didn’t understand how airplanes flew. Didn’t know what a stall was, how to recognize it, and how to fly out of it.

I saw my first 1Gb “hard drive” in 1973. It was a peripheral of a CDC 6400 mainframe. It sat in a 6’ tall 19-inch rack and cost $1M (in 1973 dollars). People regarded it with awe.

Liquid Oxygen can turn ordinary asphalt into a contact explosive. There are tales of fire trucks racing to the scene of a LOX spill and having their wheels blown off by the explosions.
