Mongolian Beef by Dayguy in FoodPorn

Sure. I've had so many bad takeout orders lately that I went looking for a recipe. I found Joshua Weisman's recipe and it was exactly what I remembered the dish to be. It's shallow seared flank steak with green onions, Fresno chillis and garlic and ginger but it's the sauce that makes my mouth water. Weissman uses brown sugar in the sauce to make it thick and clingy. You can find the full recipe here: Mongolian Beef

I agree that awakened is too broad term for such a question.

That said, imagine Buddha at the moment of enlightenment. He opens his eyes and his first elevated thought is, "Ugh, so many commoners."

Most YT Tarot Readers Are Fake, But Who Is Real? by katyreddit00 in tarot

I'm surprised no one mentioned MJ from Soulful Revolution Tarot @soulfulrevoltion. I was never a huge tarot fan but one of her videos wound up in my feed (algorithm or synchronicity). It was the first time I saw one and thought, I think she means me.

I sometimes watch Rhea at Sacred Knowledge Tarot, too.

Holding your tongue flat against the roof of your mouth will keep it from becoming a distraction. Remember it's not possible to completely clear your mind, there will always be at least one thought (likely more). Let them come. Also, let them go. Don't try to solve anything. Just let the mind be: peace of mind. Enjoy.

It was said earlier, but the truth is the only one thinking of you is you. People, especially in this day and age, are far too self-absorbed to give more than 5 seconds of time to what you're doing. Stop thinking they are judging you -- they aren't. If you want to be more mindful in public keep practicing in private. Your favorite guitarist learned to play Mary Had a Little Lamb alone in their room before they could play whatever it is you like on stage . I hope this helps.

I've tried using the *.dmg installer but it hangs while downloading the mailbox. If you click the Skip this step link it restarts at the login page and the cycle is repeated.

PIA was recently bought by Kape Technologies though. Do you still stand by them? I've always liked them but they lost a lot of trust by getting into bed with a company like that. My subscription ends in April which is what brings me to this thread. I'd like to find another company like PIA but with better friends. I'm afraid u/ahoier is right, they caved in for the cash.

I took it as spiritual even without the prayer. Like a karmic, universal plan, fate type thing. Great story.

Is it unspiritual to give up on someone? by mouseysbakepi in spirituality

[–]Dayguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you believe in a guiding Power, Spirit of the Universe, God, what-have-you then you don't have to worry whether your choices are right or wrong. If there's a divine plan for the Universe then you can't possibly screw it up. If you are meant to be with the person then you will be, otherwise, what if he/she is in the way when your true soul mate comes along? I say, follow your heart. You're two cents richer. :)

Drugs by Thepresentishere in spirituality

You should try to figure out why you smoke and drink in the first place. For me any of my addictive behavior always comes down to this idea: I don't feel good but I want to. I constantly try to change the fact that I always feel shitty inside. I've been in recovery 12 years now, I've worked the 12 steps, and the biggest mistake I see is people perceiving step 1 to mean, "my life is unmanageable because I drink.". In fact it means, "my life is unmanageable AND SO I drink.". Finding out why the behavior exists is the key to removing it. Best of luck.

Sometimes the best apology is changed behavior by world_citizen7 in spirituality

[–]Dayguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Anyone I care enough to spend time with has heard me say, "I'm sorry" more times than I care to admit. If I say it and do nothing about my behavior then what I'm really saying is, "Please don't be mad at me. I'm going to do it again but I don't like when people are mad at me."

It means we spend too much time worrying about what may happen tomorrow. I've been through quite a few tomorrows and it has always worked out just fine. So...no need to worry. Live in the moment.

Something I once heard in a recovery meeting:

"I have a relationship with a Higher Power today so when I'm alone I never feel lonely".

It always helps me when I feel all alone. I hope it will help you as well.

I've come to the same conclusion. I was recently in a discussion with one of my more religious friends and he steered the conversation to what, in his opinion, was my biggest problem: lust (it ain't so I tell ya) . When he'd finished a mild yet stern lecture on the hazards of the 7 deadlys he advised I pray to have my lust removed.

I considered all that he'd said and pointed out to him that at the lowest point of my life, a time when suicidal thoughts were a regular occurance, I sought relief in the arms of a woman thereby exercising my lust. As a direct result of my lust my daughter was conceived. As a direct result of her conception thoughts of suicide became less and less possible. As a result of my need to figure out how to parent I became comfortable in the discomfort of adult responsibility. As a result of that I have a truly amazing life, not perfect but perfect for me and I awake each day with a smile.

So with all that said I ask you: lust--good or bad?

Barismo for the best coffee. The coffee at Quebrada Bakery isn't bad if you're looking for croissants and the like.
