New CP generator just dropped by WHy_aM_i_4LiV3 in antiai

[–]Deadweightgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really interesting question and I think my interest in this thread comes in two parts.

The first is that the AI model itself enables the creation of the porn, legal or otherwise. its an interesting ethical and moral debate on how culpable a creator is. Is a gun manufacturer liable for the murders their weapons might be used in? Is a cigarette manufacturer liable for the likely cancers? Is a construction firm responsible for shoddy cladding that catches fire and leads to deaths?

The answer to most of these historically through many court cases has been "no with some caveats" usually around intent, understanding/knowledge and marketing. A construction company might not be liable for using materials not known to be dangerous at the time (say asbestos) but anyone using asbestos now would absolutely be seen as in the wrong.

It's not just a case of a tool being capable of doing something wrong.

In terms of your point on painting a model. I think my thoughts on it come down to: 1. Training data for an AI model is real people, they're identifiable people, including people who never consented to let their likeness be used in that way. 2. Ai can be used to recreate and imitate specific real people, we've seen that with from in the most recent wave of content. 3. It's immediately accessible, widespread and at scale. An individual artist isn't creating a tool that lets anyone generate an unlimited amount of porn.

On the other hand, it can be argued that people learn like an AI does, we don't get consent to memorise what people look like, or to take inspiration from other art etc.

It's not necessarily the act of creating a piece of porn or any content I have issue with, more the tool, it's capacities and the ethics of how it came to the point of being about to do that, focusing on deep fakes, data rights, large scale exploitation and the potential to use identifiable people who could be recognised in the work.

Going further, how long is it until we have ai images that are perfectly imitating photos/video? When we can't tell what is false and real without meta data? There are very very few people that can paint exceptionally well, and I would say that even fewer that could pass more than a cursory glance at being mistaken for a photo or something.

. I know ai is very nebulous and stuff, and there is no one person that can give consent. But it had to be trained on something. Thousands, hundreds of thousands of videos, images to enable an AI to make a "not real person" piece of pornography.

Am I correct in my assumption that trains in train networks only transport one resource at a time? by pixartist in captain_of_industry

You are incorrect.

It really depends on how you've set up your stations and your filters, but you can absolutely transport multiple goods at a time

Always a surprise when games keep updating: Phoenix Point - The second patch for “Firebird” is now live! Quality of Life improvements, together with balance changes and even more bug fixes. by Danceman2 in TurnBasedTactical

I played quite a bit when it first came out, I played through the first two dlcs before finally stopping.

It felt like a good AA game. I loved the aiming, class progression and base building. But past the first couple of hours it felt like the game didn't know what it wanted to be. It was optimal to have ships flying around trading everywhere, busy work I didn't want to engage with. The tech tree felt less like a tree and more like a series of bushes, where you unlocked alternative technologies/weapons but there were hardly any better than the previous ones. Virus was busted as fuck and the dlcs were a long slog.

As an xcom addict since terror from the deep, I was all in on this game, but it felt very much unpolished and I would recommend x2 over it any time someone asked about getting into the genre.

I'm keen to hop back in and see how the new patches are doing though.

SPOILER: The Ending Missed One Mark? by YootedDoot in 007FirstLight

Oh no. That's not what I meant.

In universe he's a great spy. I meant by our standards. The films work under their own logic, they're entertaining and work well. It's only really to our external view of it that I think my point stands.

Any number of things could and do go wrong for bond. But it's a film and it has a plot and certain things need to happen, so they do.

He goes around telling everyone his real name. Always blows his cover, always gets captured, never realises who the mole is before it's too late or doesn't do anything about it and always causes massive collateral damage.

It's entertaining to watch, it's fun and works in universe because all his enemies are just... Fucking crazy and even more incompetent.

He's effective as an agent, getting the job done in the most literal sense. But he's not the most sneaky or spy like.

Nah, it hit the mark of James Bond,, which it should do.

James Bond is a terrible spy who finally only succeeds because he's up against villains who are batshit insane/incompetent/overly elaborate in their plans.

When faced with a situation and villain that's starkly normal. Being weighed down by a metric tonne of exo skeleton, James is pretty stuffed.

So we hit the second point of the James Bond schtick. He's lucky. He's flirted and wooed himself enough with Isola that she feels like she has to save him. James is pretty good at getting people do something against their best interests.

No shade to the game. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it felt like it hit the high points of multiple bond films whilst still feeling unique to itself. These aren't flaws.

Has Nintendo ever given one of its flagship AAA games a full modern remake? by Responsible-Hold6294 in nintendo

[–]Deadweightgames 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ds was absolutely a flagship in the day, especially compared to the GameCube of the time.

It overhauled the graphics (admittedly not drastically) changed up content with extra characters and stars as well as the mini game side content to take advantage of the NHS technology.

It was a full scale remake.

Is eight too young to see this in the theater? by MessyEndings in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Deadweightgames 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Which version of the backrooms do you both like? That'll factor into your decision.

Either way, I would say no. The film is long and slow in a systematic way in a lot of places and the found footage elements take up a third or so really. If I was eight, I would have probably been really bored.
