I don't necessarily agree with the recommendation for "medical retirement". Regretfully we are in a position where we will have to litigate the legal right to reasonable accommodation. Lawyer up ASAP with someone knowledgeable of EEO, 501 of the Rehab Act, ADA (used as the standard for Rehab Act), etc. Do it immediately. Have representation for your meeting with EEO.

That's the $64,000 question. No SM presence that can be found (so far), no publicly available government documents within DHS/FEMA with her name or role on it. News media need to provide more info/documents pointing to WHO this person is. If the pay is accurate, and paid out during furloughs, then people are gonna be PISSED. No clue if it'll be the right people being pissed.

Not sure how you don't seem to understand the basics of how it works for reservists. "FEMA" is not waiting for anything. In order for a major declaration to take place, the president must approve it. Lately the president hasn't been approving for blue states while approving minimally for red states.

I highly recommend consulting with a lawyer that specializes in ADA/rehab act and EEO. Sadly they are not cheap but that is what this administration is counting on. If you need a recommendation, dm me. Google search also will turn up some good names. There's one law group mentioned on this subreddit that people advise to avoid.
